A shell prematurely blew up on Saturday during a military event in California. Debris fell onto California Highway Patrol vehicles near a major freeway that had been ordered closed by Gov. Gavin Newsom, who had warned that the plans to fire shells over Interstate 5 could pose hazards for motorists.

Trumpers shooting themselves in the face.

It doesn't get much better than this.

Obviously a radical far-left plot. Or is it an inside operation?

Nahhh. Soros!

This exemplifies the warrior ethos championed by pickled Pete.

Odd the Republican Party isn't using this to attack democrats and antifa.

Clearly they didn't plan it like Charlie Kirk's assassination and Trump's fake assassination.

Shouldn't JD Vance say thank you to Gavin Newsom for saving lives during his TikTok filming session?

After drunk rapist Pete Hegseth quit shelling I-5 the demented orange pedo was quick to claim credit for ending another war.

This is beyond stupid and I have to wonder what pressure was exerted and why in order to do this.

Basic gun and hunting safety always teaches that shooting at roads and OVER roads is a HUGE no no.

I find it hard to believe the marines would do this on any sort of regular basis.

A spokesperson for the Marine Corps said the military is still gathering data on how often they've fired artillery over Interstate 5.

www.latimes.com

The Marines have to be careful to not contradict The Mad King or its "Off with your head!"

They are still looking for any record of them doing this before so they can say, "yeah we do this all the time!" to cover for the Demented Dotard.

As a Marine who has spent most of his life in California I have never heard of it ever being done before.

Of course we know exactly WHY it was done. By order of the Dotard. To try and deflect attention from the millions who came out to protest against The Diaper Don. Obviously.

Those stupid Jarheads down in San Diego should be ashamed of themselves. Having a great chance to blast that scumbag nazi Whiskey Pet and they missed. What other reason do they have to be lobbing ordnance over a ------- freeway?

Ohhh, it was nasty eyeliner bitch JD Vance who they missed their shot at and only got his car with a little shrapnel? How sad. Kegsbreath was there too so they could have gotten both of them scumbags in a day and gone done in history as heroes of the world for that good shooting. Nope, they missed.

Without more than a CHP report, I'm skeptical. I spent two and a half years on an M-109A1. I worked every crew position from grunt to chief.

155 rounds do not spontaneously explode. They require a trigger, specifically, a fuse. When I discharged in '77 there were three types of fuses, PD, proximity and timed, there are probably others now. Point detonating, the most commonly used, is self explanatory, it triggers the round when the point hits whatever. Proximity, rarely used because expensive, works on an echo principle and triggers at a certain distance above ground, 20 feet IIRC, used for maximum shrapnel spread. Timed, also self explanatory, triggers x amount of time after discharge, we only ever used those for flare rounds at night. I liked being the flare gun because you got to fire about every three minutes as opposed to the typical fire mission that took about twenty minutes or more from announced ready to fire.
