OK, I guess my first question might be along the lines of ...
When was the last time you needed cash to complete a transaction.
For me, it is about four or five years ago.
I've had the same $20 bill in my wallet for years, unused.

True story ...
About 10 or so years ago, I walked to visit the local microbrewery with a couple neighbors for a burger and a brew.
As a tip, I left a 20% tip. But for the tip I used Susan B Anthony dollar coins.
The wait person looked and initially thought they were quarters (likely why the SBA dollar coins failed). His look changed to a smile as he examined the coins.

Because I pay the plumber (who has been great excellent) via a check.

I use cash all the time. The dispensary only takes cash. Also, for private local businesses I use cash to save them the CC fees, which they usually pass on to the customer anyway. I only tip in cash because many restaurants take the 3% out of CC tips.
