Was not the original main stated purpose of the Trump tariffs to bring manufacturing back to the US?

Is that still the goal of the Trump tariffs?

It's almost like he never left office, R*pe Van Stinkle ended his first failed presidency in a manufacturing recession and now nine months of significant shrinkage later, another manufacturing recession. It's like he and the MAGAts are working for Russia and China to sabotage America.
