Holley is the only person associated with this mess so far who comes out looking like he did the right thing, putting miles and miles between himself and Trump's murderous lunacy. I hope he has a decent retirement.
But anyone who expects the US military as a whole will "do the right thing" in that regard probably should consider a rethink.

Holsey, not "Holley"

Retiring does not absolve you of any crimes committed while on duty. If this administration can reactivate Mark Kelly just to harass him then the next administration can certainly recall Holsey to face charges for a war crime.
He can then testify against Whiskey Pete in exchange for dropping the charges.
Or not. Maybe him falling on his sword will make the whole thing go away.
Yeah. But. Not likely.

With Whiskey Pete in charge?
He is not likely to do the "right thing" regarding anything.
Unless by accident.

Last month CJCS General Dan Caine was visiting our servicemembers in the AOR, not ADM Alvin Holsey who as SOUJTHCOM CDR had that role and privilege.
ADM Holsey seems to have withdrawn himself from Operation Southern Spear before the Murder-Death-Kill campaign began.
The last 90 days or so ADM Holsey was probably on terminal leave and he climbed back into uniform one last time for the grand retirement ceremony held for him on Friday.

"Admiral Alvin Holsey, who oversees military operations in Latin America, retired Friday"
Admiral Holsey notified me that he had to have a berth or he couldn't get to sea so I had myself a look then I had a cup of tea and a butter pie.

#5 retirement absolves police of crimes. Perhaps the military should study this.

Holsey seems to have wisely excused himself from Trump's murder policy. Now the door has closed. What's left is audaciously stupid denial. Or the Nuremberg Defense. Buena suerte with that one.

@#5 ... retirement absolves police of crimes. ...
Does it?
Or does retirement just allow them to keep the retirement benefits without resolving them of crimes?

Remember when Trump and Hegseth stared down that entire room of flag rank admirals and generals, and Trump dared them to walk away? That was how fascism works, it destroys the will of those in charge to risk opposing the gangsters in charge.

Retiring won't save you.
You murdered humans. You violated both international law and code of military justice.

Hegseth: Pentagon won't release full video of Sept. 2 boat strikes thehill.com
... Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Tuesday that the Pentagon will not release the full, unedited video of the U.S. military's September strike on an alleged drug boat, which killed 11 "narco-terrorists," including two survivors in a follow-up strike. "In keeping with long-standing Department of War policy ... Department of Defense policy, of course, we're not going to release a top secret full unedited video of that to the general public," Hegseth told reporters after briefing senators on the U.S. military's ongoing, lethal strikes against alleged drug-smuggling vessels in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific. ... Democrats have been calling on the Trump administration to release full footage from the strikes. President Trump initially expressed support for the clip to be shown to the public but has since deferred to the Defense secretary to make that call. Senators were not shown the video during the Tuesday closed-door briefing. "It is hard to square the widespread routine prompt posting of detailed videos of every strike with a concern that posting a portion of the video of the first strike would violate a variety of classification concerns," Sen. Chris ----- (D-Del.), who attended the briefing, told reporters on Capitol Hill. ...

Schumer blasts Rubio, Hegseth over transparency on Venezuela strikes www.newsnationnow.com
... Cabinet secretaries Marco Rubio and Pete Hegseth faced lawmakers in two separate briefings Tuesday about deadly U.S. strikes off the coast of Venezuela. Both top Trump advisers remained tight-lipped about Tuesday's Senate briefing as they headed toward the House, instead praising the Trump administration's "Operation Southern Spear" campaign to reporters. "This has been a highly successful mission that's ongoing and continued, and we're pleased to be here today to update Congress on how that's developing and how that's moving forward," Rubio said. Hegseth said he "echoed that" sentiment. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who has called for transparency around the strikes, blasted the closed-door meeting's results to reporters. "I reiterated my demands of Secretary Hegseth in front of all 100 Senators, that he allow every senator to see the unedited version ... He refused. The administration came to this briefing empty-handed," Schumer said. ...
