As ACA subsidies ("Obamacare') are set to expire on 31 Dec 2025, more Americans are getting sicker and sicker: NYS logged the most flu cases ever recorded in a single week, measles is spreading like wildfire across the US, whooping cough cases are increasing in West Virginia, and Florida reports more cases of dengue fever and chikungunya.

Dummkopf Trumpf recklessly withdrew the US from the WHO on the first day he seized power on 20 Jan 2025. This year's spikes in measles cases could cause the US to lose its "elimination status" by next year after the CDC reports nearly 2,000 cases and 50 outbreaks nationwide.

Superflu Spreading in Empire State

Dummkopf Trumpf and the Republican Party's war on the poor, sick, vulnerable, and disabled continues in our insidious privatized healthcare system which puts profits before people, unlike the healthcare systems of Germany, Israel, France, Canada, or the UK.

Donald Trump forever seeks new ways to kill people. Lots and lots of people

It's like we elected Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers to the White House but it's the psychopathic ICE goons that wear the masks.

Medical expenses and affordability will kill Republicans efforts to maintain control. Some of them actually see the handwriting on the wall now. In part it's why so many are leaving the halls of power. Another part of the reason they are leaving in such numbers is Turnip's overuse of executive orders robbing congress of it's authority and near permanent gridlock. Nothing gets done anymore for the people. The rich have purchased their laws at the expense of everyone else.

I suspect in the end that revolution will come. The people are being taxed but are getting little in return for it. Corruption is at an all time high and it matters little which party is in power, just different variances on the same theme. Laws on the books are being ignored by the rich and powerful. None of this are signs of a stable government. It's a house of cards and you know the end result.

Remember those masks we all wore in 2020-22? They're back. Remember hospitals being overwhelmed during Covid? Tune in a few weeks from now for a repeat. You may not remember Heroin Bob disappearing and nodding off, but you will see that soon. And Trump the germaphobe will soon have much more to worry about than his damaged hands ...

@#5 ... Remember those masks we all wore in 2020-22? They're back. ...

Yup.

I am seeing many people wearing mass when I go , e.g., to the supermarket.

#5 Masks have been de rigueur for some time now in many places across the world.

My wife has a bit of a nasty cold right now. It must be because the ACA subsidies are ending.

*** Super Flu Spreading in US ***

The CDC reported the country's hospitalization rate went up by 14.3% because of the spreading super flu. The outbreaks have really took hold in New York, Louisiana, and Colorado.

in NYS, officials reported 71,123 new cases for the seven days ending 20 Dec. The new weekly toll marks a 38% week-over-week surge in laboratory-confirmed flu infections. Hospitalizations tied to influenza jumped sharply, with 3,666 New Yorkers requiring inpatient care compared to 2,251 the week before, continuing a trend of rising severe cases.

Meanwhile, ACA subsidies will be expiring in less than 72 hours.

Trump wanted to make a point, as to his power to dominate, to intimidate, and to do that he simply stole a political party, the Republican Party. To get elected as a Republican one has to show the Civil War South that they are true white supremacists, hate Black people, hate women in power, and are at the same time totally devoted to setting the rich up high as inherited wealth royalty in America. Trump fit the bill, and he has proven his right to call himself, privately, a fascist.
So now we have a wildly incompetent leader who cares only about himself and taking from the poor to enrich the rich, and along the way, humiliate women in power or Black People in power, or, for that matter, independent media.
Trump is pure narcissist and he is a danger to our Constitutional Republic.

#I0. How does that apply to subsidies, that we were told weren't needed when the bill passed, and that have a sunset provision written into law by Democrats?

"that we were told weren't needed when the bill passed"

They weren't needed when the bill passed.

Here's something else you were told:

Past performance is no guarantee of future results.

"and that have a sunset provision written into law by Democrats?"

The answer is in your words.

I put them in bold, because otherwise you're too stupid to figure out which words.

Repeal Obamacare!

It's the Deplorable *chef's kiss* level brain rot.

It's the Republican version of Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown.

How many times has the House voted to repeal Obamacare now? Sixty-two, Seventy-five, are there even any Republicans who can count that high?

" ... subsidies, that we were told weren't needed when the bill passed"

ABSOLUTELY FALSE. Subsidies were there from day one. I know , because in my earliest training bore their tagline: You must file, to reconcile, meaning folks would either pay back a little bit of the subsidy, if they made more than they had predicted on healthcare.gov, or get a little more subsidy if they made less than they had predicted.

Are you lying because you're ignorant, or are you simply speaking out of turn on something you don't know about?

" ... and that have a sunset provision written into law by Democrats?"

You know what else was written to sunset? Trump's tax giveaways, which cost multiple times what the subsidies cost.

But Republicans had no problem extending those, did they? They chose exactly what they chose.

Stop pretending like this isn't what Republicans wanted. This is TrumpCare! Be proud of what you've enabled.

Subsidies End?

The Left keeps pushing this lie. These addition "subsidies" were from Covid and Covid is over and so should the Subsidies

It is all just a big cover up on how Obamacare has been a massive failure
