There are underground contemporary G.I. newspapers, such as Duffleblog. During the Vietnam War, there were several such papers, widely distributed. I got a free subscription to The Berkeley Tribe because they offered FREE subscriptions to anyone who asked, if they had an APO address.

My daughter actually is an intern at Stars and Stripes. She applied for a full-time position a few weeks ago and was asked these questions.

I was like, WTF???
