While it's no surprise that 211 Democrats voted for this, they were joined by 57 Republicans.

Does anyone here support these kill switches? To me this seems to be the epitome of Orwellian.

I wonder what he was given in exchange for his guilty plea.

Then of course, there is this:

" Maryland Democratic Gov. Wes Moore and other Democratic leaders have fallen silent after it was discovered that illegal alien Ian Andre Roberts, who was recently arrested by ICE, is registered as an active Democratic voter in the state."

That thing we are lectured NEVER happens, happened. This type of thing is yet another reason Democrats love illegal immigration so much.

Congress also voted to approve over $1.17 TRILLION in spending, exceeding the White House's own request by billions.

No concern over that?

The vote was on the omnibus spending bill, not some amendment you chose to nitpick.

I'd rather point out your mile high blinders and obtuseness.

Fair point. In light of that, mostly a stupid thread. Although I do argue that passing the kill switches into law is bad.

Take it up with Mike Johnson. H.R.1137 is a bill specifically to remove the kill switch mandate. It's been going nowhere in the House for a year.

The intent of the kill switch is to deter impaired drivers, just for some background.

I know that. It's still something that can easily be abused.

You mean like the use of administrative warrants to justify home invasions by untrained, unqualified federal "officers" who have been told they have no standards of conduct or will never be held accountable?

It depends upon the specifics, but if this tech allows someone with a control to remotely disable a car on command, I see no possible way this could present a danger to the driving public.

Because criminals would have no way of obtaining such a switch to pull people over in the night on a deserted road to do criminal things to them.

Also, no chance that China would cripple our cars to gridlock our roads when they invade Taiwan in a few short years.

You'll want a kill switch if your new car gets car jacked with a baby inside. Then you'll scream for its use.

Wouldn't that kill the baby too?
