Last year, people in the U.S. made an estimated $4.7 billion selling about 62.5 million liters of their plasma, a more than 30% increase in the amount of plasma collected since 2022, according to Peter Jaworski, a professor at Georgetown University who studies the ethics and economics of the plasma business. The transactions occur in more than 1,200 plasma centers " there are now more places to sell plasma than there are Costco stores " and more are popping up in solidly middle-class neighborhoods, including suburban strip malls and college towns, Jaworski said. As America's economic divide widens, with the top 1% of households owning more than 30% of the country's wealth, the payments people receive for selling plasma are playing a quiet role in keeping households above water financially.

Middle-class Americans are selling their plasma to make ends meet

It's dotard's golden age.

I personally know people who are doing this. Productive assets to their community.

They also vote.

Decades ago to make extra money in NYC, some people became paid guinea pigs to test drugs, cosmetics, or skin treatments. There was a boutique company in Long Island City near Queensboro Plaza subway station that specialized in this.

Filling out the paperwork was lengthy and some of the test conditions were demanding, and of course testing new drugs was risky.

Selling plasma to make money (instead of donating it for free to the American Red Cross) is much easier and safer than trying new drugs.

In desperation to make money, refugees in Lebanon and Syria have sold internal organs.

America is heading toward a dystopic Soylent Green future thanks to Dummkopf Trumpf, his Republican Party kapos, and idiot voters where organs and children may be the next commodities to sell.

And no, I didn't grow a third eye thanks to that boutique company in LIC.
