Phil Mickelson was accused of inappropriate contact with a female employee of a golf club near San Diego and has had his membership revoked, according to a report by Golf Digest's Joel Beall and Tod Leonard. Golf Digest confirmed through multiple sources that Mickelson, a six-time major champion and 45-time winner on the PGA Tour, is no longer a member of The Farms Golf Club. On the day of the incident, Mickelson's accuser reported him to club management. Mickelson was later confronted on the golf course and was told to leave mid-round, according to the story. The Farms sent Golf Digest a statement acknowledging the incident without naming Mickelson but did say: "This individual is no longer a member of The Farms Golf Club." |
