Besides.. I have found that the rabid petting goats are not near as bad as those zombie petting goats.

Rabies is by far the scariest disease on the planet. I thought it had been eliminated in terrestrial animals in the US.

Rabies is by far the scariest disease on the planet. I thought it had been eliminated in terrestrial animals in the US.

It breaks through and rears its ugly head once in a while. The cases are so seldom that most wouldn't know unless they searched for it.

Pretty sure it's the bats. Had a neighbor whose dog got bit by a bat in his back yard many years ago. It was a small lap dog and wasn't up on the rabies shot - it had to be put down. Now change that dog out with a wild animal.

God no, it is endemic at least in the western states. At least it is rare. I think like one or two documented survivors of an infection. In history. Period.

Definitely an orphan disease in terms of treatment post symptoms.

It's Endemic in Bats, Raccoons, Skunks, and most carnivores.

I didn't think Goats could even Get it.

Horses, Cattle, Rabbits Squirrels. I thought they were immune.

Beavers occasionally get it.

It's mostly in carnivorous mammals.

But I guess Rodents and Ungulates get it too.

Live and learn.
