Tonight I spoke with two Canadian friends and they think the boycott is a great idea. They are pissed at Trumpf and his supporters-- not the American people per se-- but don't know if the team owners would go along. One of them counted: an NBA squad has 15 or so players and a baseball team has 25. That's 40 players that could upset the apple cart. My other friend added that the damage Trumpf is doing to the US and the world will take 10-15 years to recover from. I responded that he is an optimist.

Sadly, 49.8% of the eligible American population that went to the polls on 5 Nov 2024 voted this resemblance of a man into the highest office of the land.

Hi Reinheitsgebot: Perhaps like the recent crypto-currency summit, Trumpf will invite the Wagnerites, Proud Boys, Oaf Keepers, and even Hannibal Lecter to the White House: "Congratulations, the late, great Hannibal Lecter. We have people that are being released into our country that we don't want in our country." (Donald Trumpf, 12 May 2024).

They'll have lots to talk about. I wonder besides "da," how much more Russian does Trumpf know?

Perhaps the last time Americans experienced such internal animus towards each other was 1860. Back then, racial superiority was the divider, taught in schools and churches and handed down generationally as the norm. John Brown and abolitionists fought against the injustice of slavery before the Civil War which tore families apart. Other countries experienced Civil Wars (Russia, England, post-WWI Europe, Ireland), but only the US Civil War was over race. South Africa escaped apartheid without a race war. Years of rightwing radio, Fox News, and manipulative religious leaders have brought the same level of hatred back to America, led by Trumpf. So, today's MAGA mentality is tearing families apart, creating dysfunction where it shouldn't be, perhaps like it was in 1860.

The importance of "taking back the country," meaning putting a white man in the White House, overrode all rational thinking from these voters. Race and symbolism were important for these people until they realized they were in the same economic boat as people of color, migrants, and the under-privileged. So, Republican voters with buyer's regret: Welcome to the plantation and the world of poverty. But at least you have your white man in the White House.

The disgraced ex-spy chief will see how billionaire Bernard Arnault takes care of him and his family after "taking one for the team." Sidenote: The former director of France's foreign intelligence agency (DGSE), Bernard Bajolet, is also jammed up for using "pressure tactics" against millionaire oligarch Alain Dumenil. The intersection of intelligence operatives and the world's elite is like looking at bacteria through a microscope.

As a military veteran, I wrote about the old method used by firing squads which is what I hope is the SOP today in our prisons. Some people do have consciences after pulling the trigger.

Hi Snoofy. In the firing squad one of the marksmen is given a powerful blank cartridge allowing him to think he wasn't the one who killed the convict. Men with consciences all walk away from the execution saying: "I had the blank" to avoid guilty pangs. The Russian system was one bullet to the back of the head or neck, but that executioner must have no conscience.

Sadly, Bernie Madoff and Charles Ponzi were unable to attend the summit because they're both dead.

Americans should expect more executions in our new State of Gilead.
