The mayor of Lancaster, Rex Parris, has ignited a controversy after musing during a council meeting that one approach to homelessness would be to "give them free fentanyl ... all the fentanyl they want." Parris, a larger-than-life trial lawyer, made the incendiary comments about the drug " responsible for tens of thousands of overdose deaths " during a February City Council meeting, in a retort to a resident who objected to his musings of congregating unhoused residents into an "encampment." It wasn't until Parris doubled down on his remarks during an interview with Fox LA that his statements went viral, provoking ire far beyond the high desert city, where he has been mayor since 2008.

A former top Pentagon spokesperson has slammed Pete Hegseth's leadership of the department of defense, as pressure mounts on the US's top military official following reports of a second Signal chatroom used to discuss sensitive military operations. John Ullyot, who resigned last week after initially serving as Pentagon spokesperson, said in a opinion essay published by Politico on Sunday that the Pentagon has been overwhelmed by staff drama and turnover in the initial months of the second Trump administration. Ullyot called the situation a "full-blown meltdown" that could cost Hegseth, a 44-year-old former Fox News host and national guard officer, his job as defense secretary.

He said he was starving and led us into the dining room, where he gestured for me to sit next to him. Gring immediately grabbed a slice of pumpernickel, whereupon Hitler turned to me, gave me an eye roll, then whispered, "Watch. He'll be done with his entire meal before you've taken two bites." That one really got me. Gring, with his mouth full, asked what was so funny, and Hitler said, "I was just telling him about the time my dog had diarrhea in the Reichstag." Gring remembered. How could he forget? He loved that story, especially the part where Hitler shot the dog before it got back into the car. Then a beaming Hitler said, "Hey, if I can kill Jews, Gypsies and homosexuals, I can certainly kill a dog!" That perhaps got the biggest laugh of the night " and believe me, there were plenty.

Here we go again. For the second time, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth " a man whose chief qualifications appear to be a chiseled jawline, a job at Fox News, and a boundless confidence unencumbered by expertise " allegedly leaked details about upcoming military strikes in Yemen over a Signal chat.

In a statement marking Easter, USSECSTATE Marco Rubio called for "all nations to respect the right of Christians to declare Christ is King. Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the king of kings and lord of all nations," Rubio posted on 'X'. Rubio's implication is that Christian freedom of worship is under threat. But he ignores the fact that Palestinian Christians are being attacked by both Israeli civilians and the IDF. Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) couldn't handle a constituent so she insulted him and then posted her screed on social media: "You people on the left are crazy, you're absolutely fucking crazy. You are and get out of my face, goodbye. Fuck you." x.com

She is the ignoramus who wasted American taxpayer funds and time introducing a "bathroom bill" to Congress. Read more

Israel has not ruled out an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities in the coming months despite Trumpf telling Israeli PM Netanyahu that the US was unwilling to support such a move because attacking Iran would anger Vladimir Putin. Israeli officials have vowed to prevent Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon and Netanyahu has insisted that any negotiation with Iran must lead to the complete dismantling of its nuclear program. US and Iranian negotiators are set for a second round of preliminary nuclear talks in Rome. Iran is a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) while Israel is not. Bibi Netanyahu would rather expend US resources and imperil American servicemembers than endanger his own soldiers and use up his own weapons, but Bibi must keep busy with wars to continue ethnically cleansing Israel. Below, Netanyahu insulting everyone's intelligence at the UN. Read more

America's Godzilla is cutting funds nationally to all YMCAs. The 'Y' says it receives $600 million a year in government grants. But now there are reports that 3% of the YMCA staff across the board will be let go. In Houston, the YMCA announced it's closing its doors on 30 May. In Wisconsin, the Door County Y is worried about continuing food programs. The Y, it turns out, is not just a place to "hang out with all the boys;" they feed people too. Trumpf used the song 'YMCA' at his rallies and danced with the Village People at a pre- inaugural ball. Read more

A Democratic National Committee social media post appeared to snub the party's most recent occupant of the Oval Office, former President Joe Biden. "Happy Easter!" reads a post on the DNC's official X account, which included photos of former Presidents Jimmy Carter, John F. Kennedy, Barack Obama, and Bill Clinton. But the post did not include a photo of Biden, the party's most recent president.

Donald Trump's counterterrorism czar Sebastian Gorka claims Americans who don't support the president's anti-immigration agenda and deportations policy are "on the side of the terrorists," and suggested advocates for Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran father living in Maryland who was mistakenly deported to a brutal prison in his home country, could be prosecuted for "aiding and abetting."

American soybean farmers are worried about whether their biggest customer will keep buying. More than half of US soybean exports went to China in 2024, but the price just went up 135 per cent under the tariffs China installed in response to President Donald Trump's 145 per cent tax on Chinese imports. "Farmers deal with bad weather. We deal with pests. We deal with tractors breaking," said Ms Heather Feuerstein, who owns a farm near Grand Rapids, Michigan. "That's our lives." But tariffs? "This is a threat to our continued way of life," she said. Read more
