Health officials are working to alert hundreds of people in 38 states and seven countries who may have been exposed to rabies in bat-infested cabins in Wyoming's Grand Teton National Park over the past few months. None of the bats found in some of the eight linked cabins at Jackson Lake Lodge had tested positive for rabies. The other bats weren't killed but were shooed out through cabin doors and windows. Health officials deemed it better safe than sorry to alert everybody that they might have been exposed by being bitten or scratched. When people are sleeping, a bat bite or scratch can go unseen and unnoticed. Bats are a frequent vector of the rabies virus. Once symptoms occur, muscle aches, vomiting, or itching, rabies is almost always fatal in humans. The cash-strapped CDC is contacting the foreign visitors. Wyoming Map Read more

Between February 2019 and July 2024, investigators found that Aber had logged in to access body camera footage over 3,000 times, mostly to watch footage labeled as strip searches, without any apparent legitimate reason, according to the arrest affidavit. The videos were sometimes watched from home and hotels, often late at night or early in the morning, it said. Aber was charged last month with one count of first degree official misconduct as well 117 counts of invasion of privacy for sexual gratification, all misdemeanors, for alleging watching the videos of female inmates, including the three women who filed the lawsuit. The lawsuit also seeks to include any other woman whose videos were allegedly viewed by Aber. The document noted that some videos Aber had accessed were purged from the system, so there could be more women whose videos he watched beyond the videos of the 117 women that remained.
Russian President Vladimir Putin landed on American soil Friday and set foot on a red carpet laid out by the Trump administration, greeted by a U.S. president eager to discuss the prospects for peace in Ukraine despite the Russian army bombing civilian targets throughout the day. A U.S. stealth bomber flew overhead at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage as Putin deplaned, and Trump offered him applause before the two men walked between U.S. fighter jets to the "Beast," the official U.S. presidential vehicle. The two leaders rode together to the meeting site. The pomp and circumstance for the Russian leader effectively ends his status as a pariah in Washington ever since he launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, leading to Europe's bloodiest conflict since the Second World War. Too bad so sad.
I'm having to post this way because most liberals don't want the truth, so good sources of media are banned here. Donald Trump is "towering over" his predecessor Joe Biden in the polls when it comes to handling crime, according to CNN's chief data analyst Harry Enten. Polling data shows Donald Trump's net approval rating on crime has risen, prompting him to focus on crime as a key political issue. CNN's Enten explained that Trump's actions" such as his handling of unrest in Los Angeles " resonate with voters who identify more with the Republican approach to crime and policing. As midterms approach, Republicans are leveraging this advantage, with Enten noting that voters increasingly view their crime policies favourably compared to those of Joe Biden and the Democrats. "Americans view Trump far more favourably on crime than they did a year ago ," Enten said on Thursday.
Less than 12 hours after the Trump administration seemingly replaced Washington, D.C.'s, police chief with a federal officer, the District is headed to federal court to block the move. D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb filed a lawsuit against the federal government Friday, claiming President Donald Trump has far exceeded the authority granted him in D.C.'s Home Rule Act, the Administrative Procedure Act and the U.S. Constitution. Schwalb is seeking a temporary restraining order and to block U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi's Thursday night order naming the head of the Drug Enforcement Administration as D.C.'s "emergency police commissioner" with all the powers of the police chief. It also aims to ensure that Metropolitan Police Department Chief Pamela Smith remains in control of D.C.'s police department. The lawsuit comes less than a week after the historic federalization of D.C.'s police department.
Trump believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not "mess around" with him during their in-person meeting, the American leader made this statement while speaking with journalists.
"I think, if I weren't president, he would take over all of Ukraine. It's a war that should have never happened. If I weren't president, in my opinion, he would much rather take over all of Ukraine. But I am president and he's not going to mess around with me," Trump said. Read more
