RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Former U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema acknowledges having a romantic relationship with a member of her security detail that began while she was a lawmaker, according to legal documents. But she also contends she shouldn't be subject to a lawsuit by the man's ex-wife who blames Sinema for the marriage breakup. The North Carolina federal court litigation seeks financial damages from Sinema, who represented Arizona in the U.S. House and later the Senate for one term that ended early last year. Heather Ammel contends in a lawsuit that she and husband Matthew had "a good and loving marriage" and "genuine love and affection" existed between them before Sinema interfered, pursuing him despite knowing he was married. CHICAGO, March 16 (Reuters) -- Striking JBS employees took to the streets of Greeley, Colorado, before sunrise on Monday to picket against the world's largest meat company, in a rare labor stoppage at a U.S. meatpacking plant and a sign of upheaval in the beef industry. The union representing about 3,800 employees at the beef processing facility said it was the first time U.S. meatpacking workers had gone on strike in four decades. They launched a two-week strike and will remain on the picket lines until JBS negotiates fairly with workers, the union said. Read more

Democrats' refusal to fund the Department of Homeland Security has exceeded any hypothesis of good faith. It is an unpatriotic attack on America's frontline of defense during a time of war and potential Iranian sleeper cells, and an inexcusable burden on the department's employees. Last week, all Senate Democrats, except John Fetterman, again voted to block funding for DHS. Financed in part by malign foreign powers who seek to defeat the United States, radical left activists have co-opted the Democratic Party. Rep. Brad Schneider of Illinois, head of the supposedly centrist New Democrat Coalition, typifies the illogic. "My concern about DHS is their absolute disregard of the Constitution and American citizens' civil rights," he said, adding "So until we see officers who abuse citizens' civil rights held to full account, until we restore full congressional oversight, I'm not giving another penny to ICE and CBP."

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that kamikaze sea drones, also called naval kamikaze drones or uncrewed surface vessels, are fake and created by artificial intelligence. He argued that if they existed, the U.S. would have destroyed them like other boats, and questioned why no one has seen them. The remarks sparked widespread discussion referencing their use by Ukraine against Russia's Black Sea Fleet.
