President Trump will continue flying in the old Air Force One while the new Air Force One, a luxury jet donated by Qatar, undergoes additional security upgrades and enhancements, the White House said Monday. "The new Air Force One is perfectly safe for the President's travels, but will receive additional upgrades and enhancements in the fall which will take approximately one month to complete," White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said in a statement to CBS. "During that time, the President will fly on the old Air Force One." Mr. Trump said Sunday that his new Air Force One will be sent off for defensive upgrades after some reports raised questions about its security capabilities.

The FBI will no longer investigate assault confrontations with ICE agents, according to two people familiar with the directives. According to those sources, FBI special agents in charge of field offices and agents in those field offices were told Thursday that the FBI would no longer investigate cases of assault against a federal officer. Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis said on Monday they were imposing a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia, a move that opens a new front against the United States in its war on Iran and widens the threat to global energy supplies and trade beyond the Gulf. Iran had pressed the Houthis to close the Bab el-Mandeb gateway to the Red Sea if the U.S. continued to attack Iranian power infrastructure. In their statement, the Houthis' armed forces said they were declaring "a maritime embargo against the criminal Saudi enemy, based on the equation of an eye for an eye', effective immediately..." They said the decision was in response to what they called "an unjust and oppressive siege" imposed on Yemen by the Saudis.
The White House appears to be shielding China from scrutiny in President Donald Trump's push to get to the bottom of what he has declared an official cover-up of Chinese interference in the 2020 presidential election. While Trump said in his Thursday speech to the nation that he had ordered the FBI, the CIA, the Department of Justice and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to investigate what he calls an official cover-up of China's activities, there's so far been no mention of Beijing as a target of that probe or others. DOJ said in a statement that it's "following through on the president's directive," but declined to comment whether its investigation will extend to Chinese election meddling. The FBI, ODNI and CIA did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) unleashed her outrage on Pete Hegseth following the deaths of two U.S. service members. On Saturday, the secretary of defense took to X to repost the news of the military personnel killed and injured on Friday. "Godspeed, heroes," Hegseth, 46, declared. "Their sacrifice only stiffens our resolve." In response, Greene, 52, sent a scathing message of her own. "Sacrifice?? What the f"k are you talking about??" she wrote on X. "They did not willingly sacrifice themselves." Greene " who resigned from Congress in January 2026 and announced she was done supporting the Republican Party " continued: "They were killed because of the war you, Trump and the admin, are waging on behalf of a FOREIGN COUNTRY, Israel."
