Harris/Walz Raise $361M in August, Tripling Trump's Total

Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign raised $361 million in August, more than triple what former President Donald Trump brought in and the most a presidential campaign has ever raised in a single month. The campaign said it has $404 million in cash on hand, a total spread across the Harris campaign, the Democratic National Committee and other joint fundraising committees.

Harris' fundraising reestablishes Democrats' financial lead in the presidential race ... "In just a short time, Vice President Harris' candidacy has galvanized a history-making, broad, and diverse coalition - with the type of enthusiasm, energy, and grit that wins close elections," Harris campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said. "As we enter the final stretch of this election, we're making sure every hard-earned dollar goes to winning over the voters who will decide this election."

The presidential money race is not entirely determined by candidate fundraising, with both sides also receiving hundreds of millions of dollars in support from super PACs. However, federal law requires television stations to sell ad time to candidates at the lowest rate possible, handing the candidate who raises the most cash a distinct advantage.

Just another quick reminder: Kamala Harris has headed the Democratic presidential ticket for all of 48 days and counting. Donald Trump has been incessantly running for President for almost 9 years - including his 4 years in the Oval, wherefrom he ran for the next election tacitly from day one of his presidency.

Putin is spending too much in Ukraine so he can't funnel as much to his US puppet

Another difference is that Harris is sending money down ballot to help house and senate races.

Meanwhile over in grift land DonOLD is demanding to skim $$$ off of the fundraising for downballot candidates to pay for his lawyers.

Nowhere idiot, they're right here cheering this news. Harris didn't collect $361M majorily from big donors, she got it from voters in increments of $5 - $10 - $100 etc., encompassing tens of thousands.

Again, more proof you have no conception of America's electoral nuances that any normal politically-inclined citizen would as a matter akin to breathing.

It will take at least a generation for SCOTUS to fix that error.

Spreading the wealth will go only so far--those opposing Der Dotard must vote in November, otherwise the best that will happen is divided government again, with Trump ruling by fiat, challenging Senate Dems to sue him for each and every utterance...

I'm not finding any real data on this and I'm seeing where it's later in September when disclosures are due to be filed which means I suspect it will be later in October before we really know.

But perhaps you have a better source.....

That idea died when the corrupt Republican appointed justices on the Court ruled in the Citizens United case. Take your complaint to them.

$361 million divided by 3 million donors = $120.33 per donor.

A mean is all you can generate from that information.

Most of the total could come from large donations.

You knew that which is why you didn't go down the road of performing that basic arithmetic

Most of the total could come from large donations.

No it can't Eberly, and you should know that. These are direct donations, not Super PAC numbers. Individuals - be they billionaires or paupers - can only max out at $3,300 for presidential elections.

Why do you continually insult me from your own ignorance? I DID the math.

Harris's plan is to continue the best part of what Biden was doing ditch the rest and try to get food prices down while republicans scream socialism between demands that she lower gas prices.

Is that simple enough trumpers?

Now, having shown the total for the presidential election, donors can still give more if they haven't maxed out their limits for the primaries too, and direct giving to parties again has even higher limits.

But those numbers aren't included in the amount released stating the campaign's total.

Harris campaign announces $361M fundraising haul in August
thehill.com

... The Harris campaign said its August haul was the best grassroots fundraising month in presidential history, after nearly 3 million donors contributed throughout the month and 1.3 million donors contributed for the first time this cycle. It also said that of the first-time donors, three-quarters did not contribute in the last presidential election.

Additionally, the campaign said 95 percent of August donations were under $200 and that teachers and nurses are the most common donor occupations. More than 60 percent of donors in August were women, and almost a fifth of donors were registered Republicans or Independents, according to the campaign. ...

An individual donor may contribute up to $3,300 for the primary and up to $3,300 for the general election, while a multicandidate political action committee (PAC) may give up to $5,000 for each election. When giving to Harris for President, an individual or PAC will have to count the amount already given to Biden for President to ensure the donor does not exceed the foregoing limit. For example, an individual who already made the maximum $6,600 contribution ($3,300 for each election) to Biden for President may not contribute to Harris for President.

She is going to easily beat Traitor Trump and there will be surprises in some states. : ) I can not wait. Oh and she has policies, many of them and yes she has detailed them. Trump has NONE. He hasn't stated one policy this election season. Just basically says he will do the best on whatever he is asked. "Big Things", that is his policy talk. Harris has created plans, policy and the people love what they are seeing and hearing. Traitor Trump is losing support every day and it's so good to see as he has no idea what any polices are, besides the project 2025 that his cronies put together. Once he is beaten "bigly" (and he will be) all he will have left are his remaining trials, sentencing and his ever declining metal state (dementia).

Harris is setting records. No candidate has ever had this kind of cash haul, and yes, these are from small grassroots donors, unlike the traitor who gets big money from his billionaire friends who want their tax cuts. Also from his followers who he scams and cons out of their cash. He has to pay his lawyers so not so much for the campaign. Next month, around week 2-3 we will see something huge for Harris that will put her way over the top. America will finally be rid of the loudmouth who spews hate, lies, crackpot stories and more lies. The people of this country will never give it back to him, as he abused the USA, hurt the USA, and sided with our enemies at every turn.

Bye Bye Traitor, a woman is about to put you in your place.

My ignorance aside, it's NOT intended to insult you.

And soon enough we'll see the disclosure

Where you'll discover no billionaires are interested in supporting Harris and further not trying to get her to drop an issue. Mm

We can take a wager on whether or not Harris drops this issue before the election.

Or whether she even takes up this issue once she takes office.

Think about it.

Harris knows this is a huge loser of an issue. No chance of it passing and she knows it

I wasn't questioning the veracity of the article. I'd read it when it was first printed and recognized the usual pattern of the uberwealthy and their endless quest to protect more of their lucre from taxation.

My issue was solely with the numbers of small donors compared to wealthier ones and how much of the $361 million came from small donors in comparison. Excuse me if I misinterpreted your point. But saying that there are wealthy people who don't want their taxes to go up is akin to saying the sun rises in the East. IMO, it's not news, it's normal.

And the larger point is that Kamala is now in the strongest position ever of rebuffing these donors because she can call on the millions not maxxed out in their giving instead of leaning on bundlers and high dollar fundraisers as Trump now finds himself wedded to for survival. And as he incoherently rambles in front of each group, even many there have to question why they're financially backing the losing horse in a two horse race.

And if I'm correct, and Trump's instigation and conduct around and regarding 1/6 becomes the defining issue that will cleave off enough usually Republican voters due to the literal tsunami of high profile rock-ribbed GOP conservatives publicly backing Harris over Trump's manifest unfitness, she likely won't feel any real pre-election pressure to bend to their wishes, knowing doing so would enrage much of her coalition on the left.

But I also don't disagree that she'll be pressured to a degree once in the White House, but a Democratic House/Senate or both doubtfully would feel the same regardless.
