Two people exchanged gunfire outside of Trump International Golf Course West Palm Beach," the report said. "The shooters were targeting each other, and the gunfire was not targeting Trump."
The report also confirmed that "Trump was never in danger and that the shooting happened in an area outside the club that is known for high crime."

Where'd all those bullets go?

Who Is Ryan Wesley Routh? Man Linked To Donald Trump Golf Club Assassination Attempt

An armed suspect was arrested after aiming an AK-47-style rifle through the bushes at Trump's golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Trump and the suspect were "probably between three and 500 yards." Fox News has identified the suspect as 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh. A photo of the suspect, allegedly taken at the Interstate 95 while being detained, has surfaced on social media. *Unconfirmed reports suggest Routh was involved in raising funds for Ukraine and had made several anti-Trump posts on social media. FBI confirmed it was "investigating an assassination attempt" on Trump.

You are so blinded by your hatred that you think a shooting where a man was killed, 2 others seriously wounded and Trump grazed only, due to the extremely fortunate timing of his head turn was a staged shooting. It's of his own making as he is a traitor to this country due to his actions. Sad state of affairs these days but still almost two months away until he's beaten badly at the ballot box. Lyrics excerpt...

...
What do you want from life?
To kidnap an heiress
Or threaten her with a knife?
What do you want from life?
To get cable TV
And watch it every night?

There you sit, a
Lump in your chair
Where do you sleep
And what do you wear
When you're sleeping

What do you want from life?
An Indian guru
To show you the inner light?
What do you want from life?
A meaningless love affair
With a girl that you met tonight?

How can you tell when you're doin' alright?
Does your bank account swell
While you're dreaming at night?
How do you know when you're really in love?
Do violins play when you're touching the one
That you're loving?

@#83 ... I have gun fire within a mile of my house every single day. . ...

Not every day here.

But once a month or so.

Typically (from what I hear, totally unofficial) people shooting deer or bear in their yards.

The latter is allowed here in CT.

Later in the day, the New Hampshire Libertarian Party messaged, "Sic semper tyrannis," the Latin phrase that President Abraham Lincoln's killer shouted after his assassination in 1865, as well as a poll saying, "Would it have been good or bad if at least one governor who instituted lockdowns had been shot?"

Because of Trump, Democrats moved from despising Bush and Cheney for their warmongering to loving Bush and Cheney and warmongering.

Because of Trump, the Democratic Party has been able to move much further toward warmongering corporatism than it could have ever gotten away with before"while still framing itself as the "moderate" alternative.

Because of Trump, mainstream US politics has been shoved so far to the right that in it's now effectively a contest between Donald Trump's Republican Party and George W Bush's Republican Party.

Routh was arrested in 2002 for having a machine gun after barricading himself in a standoff with police for 3 hours.

Yet, thanks to lax gun laws and loopholes, he was able to buy this AK-47. We can thank the NRA for that.

"Laura's been a supporter of mine, just like a lot of people are supporters, and she's been a supporter of mine. She speaks very positively of the campaign. I'm not sure why you asked that question, but Laura is a supporter. I don't control Laura. Laura has to say what she wants. Name one Democrat who loves Bush and Cheney.

Just because they of their own free will chose to endorse a Democrat ticket over a Republicl0wn has nothing to do with Democrats. This is the Republicl0wn party they created. They depended on republic0wnery to make their mark in history.... and we all know how well that went.

I don't give a rat$@$$ about their endorsement... two people out of over 300 million... who gives a flippin' frappe?

Make no mistake... the overall response has been more a matter of schadenfreude and not a sudden embrace.

From what I can tell this 56-year-old disenchanted republicl0wn believed Americans should go fight ground wars to spread democracy all over the whirrrrrrrrled.

#103 | Posted by RightisTrite at 2024-09-16 06:08 AM

Yes, she's awful particular about this fence; it's got to be done very careful; I reckon there ain't one boy in a thousand, maybe two thousand, that can do it the way it's got to be done."

"No -- is that so? Oh come, now -- lemme just try. Only just a little -- I'd let you, if you was me, Tom."

"Ben, I'd like to, honest injun; but Aunt Polly -- well, Jim wanted to do it, but she wouldn't let him; Sid wanted to do it, and she wouldn't let Sid. Now don't you see how I'm fixed? If you was to tackle this fence and anything was to happen to it --"

"Oh, shucks, I'll be just as careful. Now lemme try. Say -- I'll give you the core of my apple."

"Well, here -- No, Ben, now don't. I'm afeard --"

"I'll give you all of it!"

You have zero evidence to support it but because you are mentally unwell you require yourself to believe it anyway.

#32 | POSTED BY BELLRINGER

You're such a sycophantic turd you actually believe this nonsense.

That people were injured or killed doesn't in anyway mean it wasn't staged.

There's zero evidence he was actually hit. There's zero marks on his ear in recent photos.

Every question, confidence and inconsistency is more easily attributed to Trump's people staging it than the government trying to kill him.

All of this is -------- to begin with, but if we're gonna talk about it at least think it through.

One notes that in this latest "assassination attempt", Trump learned from experience and so there was no even the slightest chance that a bullet might be shot at him. There was just some mentally-vacant rando waiting in distant bushes, who didn't know enough to keep his AK hidden until he needed it.

One also notes that Trump began fundraising off of the "attempt" immediately, and wasted no time baling Kamala Harris.

#117 | Posted by Zed at 2024-09-16 11:35 AM

Trump is blaming Biden/Harris for latest assassination attempt:

Trump tells Fox News that Biden/Harris "rhetoric is causing me to be shot at," referencing comments calling him a "threat to democracy."

"These are people that want to destroy our country. It is called the enemy from within. They are the real threat."

x.com

Meanwhile JD Vance said yesterday that it is important not to let psychopaths who threaten violence prevent one from speaking the truth:

@atrupar
BRENNAN: These false claims are endangering your constituents. Do you regret your words?

JD VANCE: We don't believe in a heckler's veto in this country ... I think we should ignore these ridiculous psychopaths who are threatening violence on a small Ohio town

The Trump/Vance ticket is a threat to democracy, so Biden/Harris are speaking the truth. They, however, also condemn violence and say the way to defend democracy and defeat Trump is at the ballot box.

The left cares about assissination attempts, kids being shot at school, worshippers being shot at church or synagogue, people being shot in grocery stores, etc. So, yes we care about the attempts on Trump's life, but you'll forgive us for noting the irony of how much conservative suddenly care about gun violence when it's the guy who bragged about not doing anything about guns who is in the crosshairs.

"During my four years nothing happened. And there was great pressure on me having to do with guns. We did nothing. We didn't yield," he said as he addressed the NRA's Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Friday evening.

Casting himself as "the best friend gun owners have ever had in the White House," Trump pledged to continue to protect gun owners' rights, even as the country grapples with a crisis of gun violence and mass shootings that have left more than 3,000 dead since 2006.

One incident and an accusation issued by the person who was later shot in the head by a gunman cannot be ascribed to an entire party. Giffords was not, and never has been a political leader of the Democratic Party unlike Donald Trump's role and place in the GOP which he and his family controls.

Giffords was one of 20 Democrats targeted in a map circulated by Sarah Palin's political action committee in March 2010. The map portrayed stylized crosshairs to mark each of their districts, in a "Take Back the 20 campaign to reclaim seats in the 2010 midterm elections.

After the map was published, Giffords said in an interview: "We're on Sarah Palin's targeted list, but the thing is that the way that she has it depicted has the crosshairs of a gun sight over our district, and when people do that, they've got to realize there are consequences to that action."

After Loughner's shooting, some of Palin's surrogates claimed the map was never intended to portray crosshairs, and instead said they were "surveyor's symbols." But that was debunked by Palin herself, when she acknowledged that the symbols were intended to be crosshairs.

It's unclear whether Loughner even knew of Palin's map, but it probably would not have changed the outcome. His focus on Giffords began as early as 2007, long before the map was published. He became fixated on her since he met her at a constituent event in 2007, and decided he was unsatisfied by her answer to his question: "If words could not be understood, then what does government mean?"

So bottom line here - never trust anything that Strawlighter impugns as accurate. He wouldn't know the whole contextual truth if it came up and smacked him in the face.

First that not a "rule".

Second democrats have NOT used images that target political opponents with a gunsight like Sista Sarah did.

You sound very desperate to blame democrats for convicted felon Trumpy being targeted by extremists while ignoring Trumpy's incendiary language that has riled them up in the first place.

You seem to forget but need to remember that if Trumpy says it then its probably not true.

It. Was. A. Map.

" Second democrats have NOT used images that target political opponents with a gunsight like Sista Sarah did."

Democrats have used identical looking g congressional maps for decades.

You clown do nothing but play Calvinball.

I don't personally blame heated rhetoric from the left for either attempted shooting but if I played by the rules established by the left, "stochastic terrorism" and all of the BS you people spout, then you all are responsible for these attempted assassinations according to your own rules.

Trump routinely accuses people and entities of being "threats to democracy" - the same phrase he now considers too incendiary to be repeated. The GOP nominee, just over the last few months, has told the public that President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and even The New York Times should all be seen as a "threat to democracy."

The former president didn't literally say, "People should stop using the phrase that I use all of the time," but that seemed to be the gist of his position.

Hours later, his running mate confronted a similar problem. HuffPost reported:

Speaking after another apparent attempt on Trump's life, [Ohio Sen. JD] Vance called for a "reduction in the ridiculous and inflammatory political rhetoric." ... "We cannot tell the American people that one candidate is a fascist, and if he's elected, it is gonna be the end of American democracy," he insisted.

One of these days, Vance is going to meet his running mate, and they'll probably have a fascinating conversation.

Nothing but strawmen and gaslighting from Strawbringer, never a single solitary receipt - as though anyone with two functioning brain cells believes a word he says.

Pathetic.

So freedom of speech does have consequences?

You can learn!

We are all responsible and accountable for what we say. But what u or I say does not have the same impact as what presidents or presidential candidates say.

But you seem to think that Trumpy is blameless and it's all the Democrats fault and it's their heated rhetoric that is to blame.

Because. Trumpy. Says. So.

#162. You're such a tool.

Who was responsible for the Giffords shooting? Sarah Palin and Republicans.

The Paul Pelosi attack? Republicans.

The attempted mass GOP assassination that nearly cost Scalia his life? Republicans bright that on themselves.

2 attempts on Trump? He brought it on himself.

It's Calvinball without any consistent standards.

Who was responsible for the Giffords shooting? Sarah Palin and Republicans.

False. My quoted content makes that crystal clear if you could understand sentences that aren't lies and smears.

It's unclear whether Loughner even knew of Palin's map, but it probably would not have changed the outcome. His focus on Giffords began as early as 2007, long before the map was published.

You are incapable of even understanding the topic, much less what it entails.

165 stands as proof you're off the reservation without a clue.

There's a bit a of a logic leap here by the Lumpers.

1. Trump should be eliminated, doesn't cause any undue concern.
2. Trump saying "eating cats and dogs" does.

It's quite a leap, that #2 threatens the lives of Haitians. Yet, #1 isn't a threat.

Not remotely the same. Do you drink from the same idiot cup that Strawbringer does?

Palin's "target" was a gunsight target, not a dot with one circle or a multi-colored target only used for archery. Unless you want to imply Democrats want Robin Hoods to go after Republicans with bows and arrows.

A gunsight target is used solely for signifying that a gun or rifle is aiming at what is supposed to be shot. And do I need to list how many Republicans use actual firearms in their ads - often times shooting them in live fire examples ala MTG - and openly speak of targeting Democrats, liberals, their agendas and policies over and over again or protecting their 2nd Amendment rights to firearms which no national Democrat has ever threatened to try and take away?

Try again.

And Rep. Goldman's personal opinion is his own. You know, personal responsibility - something Republicans used to believe in before they got taken over by the cult of Trump who proudly declares that NOTHING is his responsibility when the ish hits the fan.

#172 | Posted by tonyroma at 2024-09-17 01:06 PM

I would say, if you added it all up, Trump's language versus anyone else is significantly more imflammable.

In sports terminology, he leads the league. And Trump's actions - not words - also puts a target on his back.

Combine that with weirdos running around our country with access to guns, Vegas would put the hightest odds on an assassination attempt squarely on Trump.

Deal w/ it.

Open carry is generally not legal, so that could be a thing. It's odd that he had a scope but it wasn't mounted to the gun. Doesn't say how many clips he had, if any.

Yeah, the reporting I saw earlier today noted that those charges were brought forward for the purpose of keeping him detained.

That the investigation will provide a fuller range of charges, and that fuller range of charges will not be A Good Thing for him.

Consequential presidents get shot at': Trump at Michigan town hall
www.newsnationnow.com

... Former President Donald Trump campaigned Tuesday in Michigan, marking his first public event since an apparent second assassination attempt at his Florida golf course.

Trump attended a town hall at the Dort Financial Center in Flint, Michigan. His former press secretary and current Arkansas governor, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, moderated the conversation. ...

Addressing the dangers of the presidency, Trump stated, "Only consequential presidents get shot at," suggesting the attempts on his life validate his impact.

There was an electric atmosphere inside the standing-room-only sports arena, where thousands of Trump supporters greeted the former president with a deafening roar when he took the stage.

The overflowing crowd interrupted Trump's discussion with Sanders with chants of "God bless Trump!" and "Fight, fight, fight" at various times.

"A lot of love in this room," Trump remarked.

Trump said he had a call with Vice President Kamala Harris and described it as "very, very nice." He did not provide details about the conversation's content. ...

But did he get shot at in this incident? He wasn't shot at, was he?

Maybe he'd feel safer in a jail cell. He's out on bail in at least 3 cases, 1 pending sentencing and a fourth being evaluated right now on appeal...

He should just choose the protection of a jail cell, that's the ticket!
