As for simulcasting, that comes down to it being "more cost effective for radio station owners to spread one cost across two platforms," Hanley said.

While WFOX is losing their rock format, it will not result in the loss of any on-air talent or layoffs, Connoisseur Media officials said. The morning drive time show, Chaz and AJ, was a simulcast of sister station WPLR and the rest of the staff will take on other roles in the company's Connecticut cluster.
