At least he died doing what he loved. Participating in Russian rape, torture, and murder.

Tough way to go no matter who you are.

Interesting interview with him here: www.newsweek.com

About 2.5 years before he was raped, tortured, and murdered by the Russians he adored. Lots of talks about Ukrainian Nazis and the US being run by fascist Biden.

Wonder if he had any epiphanies shortly before he shuffled off this mortal coil.

Is Putin's orange bitch going to start a brawl at this guy's burial?

Somebody obviously didn't Trust him. Tough Break.

Was it regular Russians or DPR paramilitaries? It kinda matters who.

If it was regular Russian troops he seemed hinky or something. Spoke English.

If it was DPR they may have known him for a long time.

So the Motive..?

Bentley's Wikipedia entry (en.wikipedia.org) limns the course of what might be described as a "troubled soul." He certainly didn't deserve what he got, but there's plenty of authority testifying to war zones being barbaric arenas. I forget which of Tim O'Brien's Vietnam War novels it was, but he leaped at the chance to get out of the muck and blood when offered a job manning a typewriter at a base.

"Tough Break"EFFORTTRAITOR

Huh? The man was a traitor and this is what happens to traitors. Sort of ironic that he loved these monster so much and in the end they gave it to him in his end. No big loss and nothing to see or care about with this feel good story. Although, maybe a morality tale to be a warning to all scumbag traitors to their country like this guy was. How many Ukrainians did he himself rape and murder? His karma ran out and that was that.

If basic training doesn't do it battle fields classically condition people to be inhumane.

Too bad we can't scan him for CTE. That's the only way being an American hanging out with drunk & high russian mobiks near the front sounds like a good idea.

I wonder how many Americans are soldiering with Putin's military. When will Americans realize that Putin's (and most of Russia's FSB and mil-bloggers and media and governing politicians') motives are primarily to destroy America and all western democracies and democracy in Ukraine, and to subjugate Ukrainians who won't be slaves to their Muscovite masters? That makes the government of Russia an active US adversary. Why Americans like this sorry soul didn't realize that is the fault of one American in particular -- Trump!

@#14 ... I wonder how many Americans are soldiering with Putin's military. ...

Good question.

I cannot seem to get a cogent answer from any search engine.

... When will Americans realize that Putin's (and most of Russia's FSB and mil-bloggers and media and governing politicians') motives are primarily to destroy America and all western democracies and democracy in Ukraine, and to subjugate Ukrainians who won't be slaves to their Muscovite masters? ...

Oh that is a wider question.

I would proffer that the answer to that question starts with an answer to the question of why so many of the Trump cult seem to have their views purchased by Pres Putin. (that's the short version of my answer, but it properly conveys my current opinion)
