Kamala Harris’ Impossible Challenge

Kamala Harris is roundly criticized for feeding America a steady diet of word salads. But what else can she do, given her impossible task of making the Democratic Party's progressive policies palatable to the American people? To appreciate Harris' challenge, note that none of her top surrogates have been able to square that circle either. There is no Democrat who makes you think, why can't our candidate just say that " as Sen. Tom Cotton and Vivek Ramaswamy do for Republicans while describing Donald Trump's policies. Harris' stand-ins may not get lost in the weeds of pablum, as Harris did last week when she told a crowd, "I grew up understanding the children of the community are the children of the community." But when they are not comparing Trump to Hitler, her representatives are as gauzy and incoherent as she is.

Ah, yes... Commentary article by consistent Dem critic.

So, Heffy, pls let us know when she becomes a criminal traitor like your Hero and Cult Leader.

Now that would be news!

Then again, it wouldn't get you the attention that you crave.

Kamala Harris is roundly criticized for feeding America a steady diet of word salads

A career prosecutor whose entire adult life has been spent speaking in open court or in front of the public representing the offices she was elected to lead?

It's truly pathetic the extent you go in order to gaslight what any sentient person with ears has never thought when listening to the entirety of Harris' remarks about anything.

#8 | Posted by tonyroma at 2024-09-26 02:49 PM

You think it's more due to the facts he's a xenophobic racist, or a misogynist, that BullBringer has never once commented on that Orange Salad Bar's "impossible challenge"?

Republicans love Dementia Don's word salads. They pretend it's Trump being crafty and playing 4D chess. Spend days explaining what he actually meant. Get themselves twisted up in pretzels doing so many flips.

But BullBringer is so concerned about Harris's "impossible challenge".

It's not just concern trolling! He really cares!!

He's super serious!

That's just an appeal to authority. Being a prosecutor doesn't necessar8ly translate to being good at being a presidential candidate. It's obvious why her team has kept her from the press. Even in the friendliest environments she fails to answer basic questions that should be a no- brained for a presidential candidate. The same people trying to tell everyone how awesome she is we're also saying Joe Biden is sharp as a tack.

#10 | Posted by BellRinger at 2024-09-26 05:43 PM

BullBringer,

Speaking of salad.

Shouldn't you be tossing Trump's.

Get to it, boy.

Otherwise he'll get diaper rash.

Even in the friendliest environments she fails to answer basic questions that should be a no- brained for a presidential candidate.

Name one question Trump has answered during his entire 3 year campaign to become President again.

Sometimes I think you just fell off a turnip truck. No candidate answers any question that they don't want to. Harris didn't start it, and she certainly won't be the last.

Binary idiots like you want to criticise others for what you allow in yourself and others you support. Questions about what someone would do NOW, or what someone thought THEN are wholly irrelevant to future decisions they might have to make because life isn't static, and what's true right now may be inoperative tomorrow, so why create an impression in simple minds that can be endlessly criticized if one needs to change approach or opinion? Intelligent people innately understand this, while morons stay chained to stupid zero sum mentalities of their own creation.

That describes you and Trump to a T.

We desperately need to see regular discussion and open ended debates between journalists and the press and others in media with opposing viewpoints. It would allow all facts be exposed to discussion instead of enabling politicized media interests to control message.

Punditry needs to work for a living and compete directly with political opposition.

#13 | Posted by Robson at 2024-09-26 06:28 PM

" It would allow all facts be exposed"

You want facts exposed?

Let's start: Who won the 2020 election?

#14 | Posted by Danforth at 2024-09-26 06:33 PM

It's obvious why her team has kept her from the press.

Hmmmmmm, who to believe, Mark Cuban or Strawlighter......

On Tuesday, Mark Cuban said Trump is unable to demonstrate depth or nuance on policy.

"Whenever Donald Trump says something, everybody else has to explain for him what he said, right?" Cuban told MSNBC. He contrasted that with the Democratic presidential nominee, arguing that she "says what she says [and] everybody knows what she means. That is such a stark difference between the two."

www.huffpost.com

So, either Mark Cuban is wrong or Strawlighter has yet again been caught blatantly gaslighting when he insinuates that no one understands Harris' word salads. Could it be that Strawlighter simply doesn't have the mental capacity that most Americans - like Cuban - possess and he's trapped in a world of delusions unattached to reality?

I report you decide.

#15 | Posted by tonyroma at 2024-09-26 06:51 PM

I just went through the entire transcript of her interview from last night, and I couldn't identify one question she was asked that she didn't give an answer to related to the question and its complexities.

Would someone like to inform me of just what Strawlighter is talking about?

#16 | Posted by tonyroma at 2024-09-26 06:59 PM

" Would someone like to inform me of just what Strawlighter is talking about?"

It's usually hard to understand what he's saying with all that slurp in his mouth.

#17 | Posted by Danforth at 2024-09-26 07:04 PM

" either Mark Cuban is wrong or Strawlighter has yet again been caught blatantly gaslighting"

Oooh, oooh, I know the answer! Call on me, teach!

Okay, Mr. Hors-forth, tell us the answer.

#19 | Posted by tonyroma at 2024-09-26 07:20 PM

I truly wonder how todays leftist commie wannabees have anyone that would represent voters to tout. What Dems adore today is sadly what most see as threat. Americans want neighbors with similar values and cultural beliefs that they can socialize with and trust. Thats how countries are naturally formed. We dont want our communities hijacked by outsiders, and that belief is world wide. It changes over years which is normal.

No, its ironic. Everywhere you can look at approaching holistically, is in States with little regulations.

As Pete says "you pass a lot of measures to prevent bad things from happening, and the result is, you prevent anything from happening"

My take is "holistic" is Harris's version of Hillary's "smart power". Undefinable, other than more government. Which is the opposite of holistic.

The only way to implement "holistic approach" is in totalitarian state, which I believe she referred to as a country that can get things done like HSR.

Fortunately people have rights, sounds like nothing more than she's all for stamping over rights of individuals for the "common good".

She completely glosses of over the reality of how complicated regulations and laws have made doing anything in California.

Which BTW she should know.

demolished her over her interview.

The article sited did nothing of the sort. Why do you insist on gaslighting every single topic? Why not actually READ what was written, not your insipid false spin on a fairly straightforward article.

Reid Epstein did - again - want to hold Harris to a standard no one holds Trump to - expecting details on policies not yet fully formed and then he obliviously noted the reason why Harris might be reticent to boldly promise what she cannot deliver without help.

Ms. Ruhle brought up the elephant in the room: How could any of this happen without Democratic control of the Senate?

This is a key question that hangs over the Harris campaign as Democrats increasingly fear Senator Jon Tester of Montana is in a perilous political situation. If he loses his re-election bid, Democrats would need to flip at least one Republican-held Senate seat to retain control of the chamber - an unlikely prospect given this year's daunting map for the party.

That is an argument she may find herself making to very skeptical Senate Republicans next year if she wins the White House.

What braindead farts like Strawlighter keeps forgetting is that Harris is still trying to introduce herself to millions of Americans - Americans who aren't interested in going into the weeds of policy wonkism and simply want to assess the character and strength of her compared to Trump, the already known commodity.

It's political malfeasance to offer details when your opponent won't. When you do you create a target for negative ads. Speaking of which, Trump is still running ads that were accurate a year or two ago, but not now. Inflation has dropped from its highs and continues to do so. Unemployment is still near historic lows while his commercials claim its rising and that a recession is just around the corner. He falsely claims that wages are down, when they aren't. Anything of detail that Harris articulates now will only be used against her.

When she says trust her values, most people understand exactly what that means - look at her political life and what she's always placed at the forefront of efforts over decades of public service. No one can say what needs to happen after January 20th because so much can change before then. But America can decide who'd they'd rather have making those important decisions - the candidate whose spent her entire adult life serving the American people or the candidate whose spent his entire life serving himself and his own ego, to the extent he's hawking cheap branded goods simultaneously as he's running for President, blurring all lines between election laws not designed to address for-profit candidates.

#36 | Posted by tonyroma at 2024-09-27 04:19 PM

Amazing. Tony Roma thinks a presidential candidate should avoid giving any policy specifics and should only do interviews with those most friendly to her.

That's a long winded pile of rationalization.

'Member when NOT being a criminal traitor like her opponent would have been enough for most Republicans to vote for a person for the highest office in the land?
