Kamala Harris' One-on-One Interview with '60 Minutes'

Vice President Kamala Harris faced tough questions about how she'd pay for her economic plans, whether Democrats were too slow to enact border security measures, how she'd confront Russia over its war in Ukraine and more in a wide-ranging "60 Minutes" interview that aired Monday.

"With no more debates between Harris and former President Donald Trump currently scheduled, this slate of interviews could present the best opportunities for surprising and news-making moments in the final four-week sprint to Election Day.

Here are five takeaways from Harris' sit down with "60 Minutes":"

With the Orange Chicken in hiding, she stands out as a great candidate compared to the former Traitor in Chef.

Looks like she's lining up a busy month, not really surprising.

This would be the interview Orange Chicken Man ran from. Bwaaak, bwaaaaaaaak.

Obama is forcing her to do actual interviews now, and ones with actual tough questions that she isn't comfortable answering. This doesn't end well for her as non-memorized answers and thinking on your feet have proven to be her kryptonite.

" Obama is forcing her"

link?

#6 | Posted by Alexandrite at 2024-10-08 10:27 AM

too bad Obama isn't "forcing" that puss trump to do interviews. Trump turned down 60 minutes once he found out they were fact checking.

Obama is the Wizard of Kenya.

#8 | Posted by REDIAL at 2024-10-08 10:28 AM

The 60 minutes (and this is not an exact quote) "Trump cancelled the interview citing fact checking (we always fact check) and other reasons that didn't and never happened" was quite the opening.

#9 | Posted by YAV at 2024-10-08 10:30 AM

Think of fact checking as a red line for Trump.
He sees it and does what he's always done: he runs away.
Like when faced with the prospect of facing Kamala Harris again.
Red line! Red line! And ... whoosh! he's off and running ... away.
Lol

#5 - The projection is strong in the cult. Her Kryptonite is thinking on her feet and answering tough questions? Dotard only does friendly interviews and town halls, and even the when asked by a supporter a simple question about child care, he meanders off to lying again about terriffs. Even in his so-called press conferences he simply rambles through his Klan rally lies and takes no questions. The odd time a reporter actually gets to ask Combover Quisling a question, if he can't answer it, he attacks the reporter. Old BlueWaffen is a freaking moron!

... Kamala Harris' One-on-One Interview with '60 Minutes' ...

Wow.

VP Harris finally sits down with a one-on-one interview with a media company.

The GOP should be ecstatic about this.

I mean, all the lies and gaffs they expected to occur and hoped to capitalize upon.

Oh, wait ....

From the cited article...

... Harris says Congress must act on border security

Harris maintained migration is a "longstanding problem" when asked about President Joe Biden's administration's approach to immigration policies and refused to answer whether officials should've cracked down sooner.

From the outset, the Biden administration faced record migration in the Western Hemisphere, which was hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic. Over the last three years, US officials grappled with migrant surges at the southern border.

Asked why the administration didn't crack down earlier, Harris cited an immigration bill proposed to Congress in early 2021 and slammed Republicans for tanking a recent bipartisan border bill after Trump urged them to reject the measure.

CBS correspondent Bill Whitaker asked: "But there was an historic flood of undocumented immigrants coming across the border the first three years of your administration. As a matter of fact, arrivals quadrupled from the last year of President Trump. Was it a mistake to loosen the immigration policies as much as you did?"

"It's a longstanding problem. And solutions are at hand. And from day one, literally, we have been offering solutions," Harris said. ...

Interesting.

Hey, don't be a spoiler.

I have that episode set to record when it is broadcast in a bit more than an hour....

Of course Trump didn't bother to appear he would have had to do some homework to try and remember some answers to questions like..how will you pay for your programs, and is project 2025 going to be your platform?

#18 | Posted by Hughmass at 2024-10-09 07:22 AM

Trump has been far more accessible than Harris overall. His answers to tough questions are nearly as bad as her non-answers.

Vance has done WAY more one- ones than Walz.

With her interview it was refreshing to see someone who calls himself a journalist engage in actual journalism. Tough questions. Follow up. Pushback on non- answers and all of it done professionally and dispassionately. Back before his way too early death I used to watch Meet the Press religiously when Tim Russert was the host.

The------------- fled in terror from the NABJ.
the------------- was so traumatized by Harris he refused a second debate.
The------------- is far cowardly to be interviewed by 60 Minutes.

Same with releasing his tax returns. Info we know about says he hasn't paid federal taxes in several years, including his presidency. For the same elusive reasons, he doesn't want us to know his true physical and mental condition or he would release those records. He's be scheduling interviews to show off how healthy he is, but he isn't. That says a lot right there ...

#29 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY at 2024-10-09 07:05 PM

Trump is 78 and morbidly obese. He's not in good health.

Same with releasing his tax returns.

He refuses to release his health records, his taxes, his grades, etc. Everything about him is a myth. Period.

NYS proved he was a business fraud for decades.... boasting about how rich he was to the public and how much his "empire" was worth to secure loans from banks and insurance companies and then when the tax man comes his empire looks like a rummage sale.

ConOLD has always be a con-man.

His grandpappy was a pimp.
His daddy was a racist klansman.

He adds nothing to society at all....only takes, rapes, assaults, philanders, steals, cons, etc.

He is the worst part of humanity and his crotch fruit will be just as bad or worse.
