Baier Apologizes for Playing Edited Trump Clip in Interview

"I wanna say that I did make a mistake," [Fox News anchor Bret] Baier admitted. "When I called for a soundbite, I was expecting a piece of the enemy from within' from Maria Bartiromo's interview, to be tied to the piece from [Harris Faulkner's ]town hall."

If he is so sorry, why didn't he correct his error in real time? If he is so sorry, why did he wait 24 hours to correct the record?

#1 | Posted by Gal_Tuesday at 2024-10-18 09:35 AM

Because he is not sorry he played the wrong clip, he is sorry that he got caught being a sh*tler fanboi and is being mocked for it.

#2 | Posted by Nixon at 2024-10-18 09:38 AM

Baier is a hack, behaved that way of national TV, and thought that nobody would notice.

#3 | Posted by Zed at 2024-10-18 09:47 AM

Glad to see this! I just posted this on another thread:

"I'm calling Bret a liar, flat out, because he knew at the time that the clip was not the right one, that it was a lie in the context of the question, that he was called on it real-time, that he didn't correct it then, that Fox "news" went ahead and played the interview without noting that it was the wrong clip, and that Bret 24 hours later admitted it they used a clip that didn't match what Bret himself said it was about."

BTW - that "apology" by Bret was played once and everyone at Fox "news" has moved on without skipping a beat or admitting they deliberately lied their butts off.

He is sorry (not sorry).

He proceeded exactly as planned.

He is sorry it did not work out the way he thought it would.

@#7 ... She did so well, but they have to cry and whine over a niggling glitch. Why? ...

Yes, she did quite well.

In spite of Mr Baier not allowing her to finish her sentences and constantly interrupting her.

Was he trying to throw her off course with those constant interruptions?

In spite of that, she stayed focused and on topic.

When Mr Baier tried to bait her, she responded accordingly...

Kamala Harris (18:29):

This is an election for president of the United States. It's not supposed to be easy.

Bret Baier (18:34):

I know, but it is-

Kamala Harris (18:37):

It is not supposed to be a cakewalk for anyone.

Bret Baier (18:42):

So are they misguided, the 50%?

Kamala Harris (18:42):

Listen, let-

Bret Baier (18:42):

Are they stupid? What is it?

Kamala Harris (18:42):

Oh, God. I would never say that about the American people. And in fact, if you listen to Donald Trump, if you watch any of his rallies, he's the one who tends to demean and belittle and diminish the American people. He's the one who talks about an enemy within, an enemy within, talking about the American people, suggesting he would turn the American military on the American people.

Was it a "glitch" when fox news said the election was fraudulent until they got sued?

"niggling"

Seriously? We can see the white sheet from here, --------.

"Overall, Baier interrupted Harris at least 38 times in 27 minutes, about twice as often as Baier interjected with Trump (at least 28 times in 36 minutes)."

and Fox look rather foolish.
Probably because her senile opponent calls her names questioning her intelligence and Fox News was still trying to help Trump by editing the video of Trump but she is so sharp that she caught their dirty little trick and made Baier and Fox News look foolish which makes her look good and also funny and smarter that Trump or Baier.

Dishonest network gets caught dishonestly portraying a dishonest former president as something less than the dangerous psychopath that he is. Quelle surprise.

#13 | Posted by cbob at 2024-10-19 07:35 AM

The networks are being held to accuracy and ethical standards which they have traditionally ignored for the most part. Not surprising that in this extremely charged and volatile political climate this is taking place.

It actually worked out quite well for VPOTUS, it allowed her show strength against a lying, openly hostile POS male. It showed that she would not be cowed, and has a strong spine. It also proved that Faux and the------------------- have been lying about her to their audience, she is in fact smart, articulate, CAN answer questions under stress and think on her feet. She came off as a 1000% more Presidential than Combover Quisling who is spending the last two plus weeks of the campaign talking about other men's --------, proving his jealousy over EVERY man having a larger package than button mushroom man.

I trust 60 min over Trump any day. I think most of America does. This story has no legs. He just comes across as a chicken ---- winey little spoiled ----- as usual.

Harris did SO well in the interview that Trump is using the whole interview as a campaign ad. #HARRIS_DID_SO_GOOD #DID_SHE_THOUGH?

Harris did great in that interview. Your complaints about her performance are ample proof. You people always squeal when stuck.

#22 | Posted by Zed at 2024-10-20 11:53 AM

I agree she did so well her opponent is using the whole interview as an attack ad on Harris.

All 27 minutes of it?

Yeah not likely. The Trumpy misinformation "camplain" can't afford that much air time.

Baier interrupted Harris at least 38 times in 27 minutes.

I dare them to show that over and over.

In other words. The lie served it purpose.
