Harris Lost by 121K Votes in 3 Swing States

"However, a shift of 121,000 votes across Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin would have produced a different result with Harris winning," he said, adding, "We infer too much from marginal shifts in numbers. This election is another case of that."

Good luck with that. Unless you were okay before with someone winning the electoral vote without the popular vote, you don't really have a leg to hop on.

She did worse than down ballot candidates.

Which means people really weren't happy with the Administration, but liked their party.

#4 | Posted by oneironaut at 2024-11-11 09:02 PM

No, 1Nut, that means that swing voters decided to vote for the devil they knew rather than the one they didn't; most Pres candidates campaign full time for at least 1 or 2 years... she had a couple of months.

And she wasn't all that well known when she was picked for VP.

You have absolutely no sense of humor at all. But we knew that.

A leg to stand on? Besides the method prescribed by the US Constitution (and that Repubs have used in two out of three elections since the turn of the century to take the White House, despite having a minority of the popular vote)?

What do our personal feelings have to do with that?

#6 | Posted by censored at 2024-11-12 07:30 AM

Trump's numbers didn't change. Which means MAGA remained and voted en bloc.

The disparity between POTUS and down ballot races screams, loud and clear, that she was a terrible candidate that Dem voters simply didn't vote for while voting for down ballot Dems.

Someone on another thread put it perfectly - Trump didn't win. The Democrats lost.

You can stop pretending Harris was a good choice in 2020 or 2024 now.

Considering 101 out of 105 counties in Kansas went for Trump you don't have a point as usual Corky.

You're still using the same excuses for losing with terrible candidates.

"vote for them anyway"
"we ran out of time"
"it's trump's fault"
"he's a criminal"

Let that last one sink in a minute. Your candidate couldn't beat an adjuicated rapist and a multiple times felon for mishandling classified information.. Oh, and the hush money

First of all, your little shtick is well past old. You can always tell when you're cornered because you fall back on a logical fallacy presented with hollow attempts at condescension.

Second, no, it wasn't because people didn't know who she was because she only had a few months. FFS how f*&^ing tone deaf and insulated are you?

She ran for POTUS once before. She was the first to lose.

She was VP for four years and did nothing. What little she attempted was failure after failure. That's why her bio page (before she was handed the nomination) was mostly about being half black half south asian parents were blah blah blah. It wasn't about initiatives she was working on or had successfully guided to completion.

Once she was handed the nomination, they played identity politic -------- with it. Made no significant attempt to counter the narrative that she and Biden were responsible for the inflationary pressure everyone feels, certainly didn't message well that things were much improved and are continuing to improve.

But there was gonna be $25K handouts to further inflate housing costs! And taxes on money people hadn't even earned yet! (I know most wouldn't be affected by that, but it plays into the stereotypes about dems) And programs to help black male entrepreneurs get into the weed business!

Let's not even get into framing the whole women's rights issues as being about just abortion, which makes them sound ghoulish and rather dispicable to a lot of people.

So not only was it not a great campaign, but she was just a bad choice that wasn't decided by the Dem voters.

Your little life preserver you're clinging to? Just another misstep on the Dems part to further point out their culpability in this fiasco.

Say what you will about the Dem reaction, but for all their flaws they won't be denying the election results for four years or throwing an insurrection. And they would be highly unlikely to support anyone who does in the next election.
