CBS Pulls Broadcast of Chiefs' Blowout Loss to Broncos

The Kansas City Chiefs backups took an absolute beating in Week 18 and are currently facing a 38-point deficit in an AFC West showdown against the Denver Broncos. In fact, the Chiefs' performance on Sunday was so bad that the decision-makers at CBS pulled the game from their national broadcast, saving Kansas City's fans the indignity of having to watch their team lose to a bitter rival.

"bitter rival"

Not when you just won the division for the ninth straight time, and were 16-1 against them during that time until today.

Chiefs let Denver win. That eliminated the possibility of having to face Cincinnati at Burrowhead.

Chiefs were smart to sit their starters.

They are still #1 seed. Why take the risk?

This was actually a pretty boring day of football. The only game that mattered was Detroit and Minnesota. Thankfully it was a night game. It's kind of ridiculous that a 14-3 Vikings team is a 5th seed and starts on the road but no playoff formula is perfect.

There is. Once you get out of your '-------' white uniform, take a rifle and guard a post.

But...I digress.

Did they show "Heidi" instead? Asking for a child in the house...

Because of this 'beating', I suggest you bet everything you have against the Chiefs.

This just made it easier for us here in KC to go dig out from the blizzard. At 14-0 I started on the driveway.

If the Broncos somehow manage to beat the Bills, the very next game will be another rematch with the Chiefs, at Arrowhead. KC had no reason to show more of their playbook or risk injury. If they have to play the Broncos again this year, it will be at full strength in two weeks. I don't think the Chiefs are as good as their record. The Broncos just missed beating them earlier in the season by a blocked field goal.

As a Broncos fan (season ticket holder even) I'm really happy with the Broncos progress this year. And yesterday they did what they had to do to get a playoff game. But it won't be so easy going forward.

They looked good yesterday but they played the scrubs. I like their team but the Chiefs and Bills are the cream of the crop with the Ravens nipping the heels in the AFF.

Football should be illegal, it causes CTE in adults leading to early dementia. It should be illegal in high schools, as it is child abuse. The second that CTE can be diagnosed in a living person is the day that high schools and colleges end the carnage. maybe. en.wikipedia.org

Makes no difference.

The Vikings will blow it somehow anyway whether they are the 1st Seed or the 5th Seed.

It's the Vikings after all.

I don't think they Chiefs are nearly as good as their record implies. The Broncos only lost to them by a blocked field goal in their first matchup. The Chiefs also just squeaked by in several other games. A comment I saw elsewhere, paraphrased: 'The Chiefs are a 9 and 7 team with a 15 and 2 record.'

Nothing to do with the Allstate sponsor's concerned lecture announcing to "combat divisiveness"?

Nothing to do with ESPN receiving angry calls, messages and threats?

Gee.. more ownership society triggering terrorism.
