The first outbreak of a rare bird flu in poultry has been detected on a duck farm in California, the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) said on Monday.

While this mutation of the bird flu still has not attained the ability for human-to-human transmission (that's the key thing to watch, imo), it does show the ability of a virus to mutate.

So, how will Pres Trump respond?

State officials quarantined the affected farm, and a culling operation of the facility's nearly 119,000 birds was completed on December 2. Farm and ranch has preference (or senior water rights) during dry periods, as opposed to natural waterfowl production areas (or equivalent). Particularly in the West. Waterfowl go where there is water, which is becoming more and more limited to farm and ranch and where we domesticate our animals.

I remember when Covid was far, far away, and then there was a case or two in Washington State, and then...a million people were dead in the US.
Electing self-serving grifters will work out well for the billionaire caste, but one really wonders if this is the year that Bird Flu is the new Covid.

So this time the plague will hit at the start as opposed to the end of his error. I wonder how many Americans will needlessly die this time, last time it was nearly half a million. I'm sure that with Brainworm in his cabinet he'll beat that number easily.
