If Musk had Trump's permission to do this, that's scary. If Musk doesn't have Trump's permission, and is going rouge, that's scary.

I'll say it again...Musk is the fly in the Chardonney. And keep in mind this is only their 2nd week. If this doesn't give you the heebie-jeebies, just wait...no doubt they'll start tinkering with some aspect of your life you DO care about.

That's odd when 57 of the top 100 donors were Republicans.

This is why DOGE is needed, to ferret out such abuse of our tax dollars - just unbelievable and one wonders why our government costs us so much annually.

Elon Musk Is Trying to Getting Control of Key Payment System

Musk bought Trump and will get a return on his investment.

I'm not sure what destroying America gains him.

But it's obvious Putin and Musk's Russian allies who helped him buy Twitter stand to gain immensely.

Just to clarify, this is the system that actually pays people. This is the group that sends out the checks that the federal government issues, SS, grants, medicare and several trillion dollars.

Musk is saying that this system is corrupt, that payments go out willy nilly.

The danger is he unilaterally starts putting stop payments on checks or stops issuing checks. On his whim or --------

This could be unfathomably destructive

STFU s*^&bag. This is the literal "deep state" you dumbf*&^s have been whining about for years...and you're cheering it.

Libs pull this ------- gimmick where they set up all these government programs and bureaucracy then claim that anyone trying to undo what they did is "big government" or "government overreach" or some other stupid ----.

Hey you stupid ----libs, undoing the dumb ---- you did isn't "government overreach" it's returning things to the way it was before you ------ it up.

Get bent. Dems and the left cheered when Harris/Biden raised way more than Trump with a lopsided number of mega donors.

This isn't 'Deep state'. You don't even know what the term means. It's corporatism/ corporate fascism / oligarchy and the absolute best way to combat it is to shrink the powers of the federal government back down to its Constitutional roots.

Pare back the administrative state and the oligarchs have much less influence over the federal government. The problem is this ---------- relationship between big business and big government has been mutually beneficial.

#24 | Posted by BellRinger at 2025-02-03 01:44 AM

JPW,

Biden recently gave the Freedom of Medal award to Soros, who is a decades long oligarch who has poured his money into our political system to stoke his preferred policy outcomes. You are clearly angry (these days you are always angry) about Musk getting into politics. Does that apply to Soros too, or is that different?

#25 | Posted by BellRinger at 2025-02-03 01:47 AM

Medal of Freedom. I hate typing on mobile devices.

#26 | Posted by BellRinger at 2025-02-03 01:48 AM

@#16 ... This is why DOGE is needed, to ferret out such abuse of our tax dollars ...

"such abuse" ...

That implies you have justification.

What's yer got?

#27 | Posted by LampLighter at 2025-02-03 02:05 AM

@#5 ... Dems have more billionaire donors ...

Even if that assertion is correct, I have one question ...

Have the Democrats given control of the government to those donors, as Pres Trump appears to do with Mr Musk?

Have the Democrats given control of a major part of the government to a billionaire donor?

If they have done so, please provide a documented example.

Who Had The Wealthiest Cabinet
by Patrick Wagner,
Apr 13, 2018
United States
This information might not come as a big surprise, but Donald Trump's cabinet is the wealthiest when it comes to the net assets of all of its members when compared to Bush's and Obama's initial cabinets. His $2.33 billion heavy cabinet's net worth is 35 times bigger than Obama's first cabinet and still seven times more worth than the 2001 cabinet of former Republican president George W. Bush.

Trump selected his ministers with an eye on their former entrepreneurial successes. Shortly after the election he stated, "I want people that made a fortune". His richest cabinet member is his Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos. Trump's Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur Ross, who made a fortune by reconstructing imbalanced companies, ranks second on the list. However, Donald Trump did not succeed in building the wealthiest US cabinet in history. In Obama's second term, he selected Penny Pritzker, heiress to the Hyatt Hotel empire, as his Secretary of Commerce. Her $2.2 billion net worth alone is almost as big as Trump's whole cabinet's monetary assets.
