A Fifth of Americans Are on Medicaid

Some Americans who rely on Medicaid to pay for their health care don't realize their insurance is funded by that very program, which congressional Republicans are looking to shrink.

AOC: Only 2% of people on Medicaid are able-bodied.. I saw Mike Johnson saying we have to stop all the able-bodied men from being on Medicaid -- as if it's a crime for someone to have healthcare in America. Healthcare is a human right, and everyone should have it.

"Republicans in Congress are considering proposals to slash hundreds of billions of dollars from federal Medicaid funding as they look to offset trillions in tax cuts proposed by President Donald Trump. The specifics of the Medicaid cuts are still being hammered out.

But any reductions to federal Medicaid spending would shift those costs to states, which would likely be forced to end services or cut coverage for certain groups of people.

"Part of the problem is when we hear people talk on television or hear lawmakers talk, there are many people that don't make the connection that they themselves are on [Medicaid] or that their hospital is very much dependent upon the dollars that come from Medicaid," said Brown."

Republicans Suck, btw.

There are all kinds of stupid people out there who are unaware of their own circumstances. People tell themselves anything to get through the day. And much of it lies.

Which doesn't really matter to anyone.

It's not that they care how stupid these people are....it's how they vote. That's what has their asses chapped.

Hey, this 5th of Americans SHOULD pay for Herr Musk's tax cuts... it's great Irony!!

The reason for Poverty in the US isn't lazy stupid workers, it's that their employers DON'T PAY a Modern Living Wage compared to management and corporate profits.

Which is why they don't have Health Care in the first place; people can't afford it.

Billionaires need tax cuts.

That's what all this boils down to.

There was a clip from the Oval Office from last week where Trump was bragging about how much money he and his buddies made by manipulating the stock market. The men standing by Trump had made $2.5 billion dollars. More than they will ever be able to spend. Where will all that money end up? In some bank, sheltered from taxes. To sit, forever.

But they need tax cuts, so damn Americans who may die due to their greed.

5 Nov 2024 is another 'day that will live in infamy.' This is the date when 49.8% of eligible voters, in an effort to "make America great again" or "take back the country," ceded our nation over to the Kremlin, the oligarchs, AIPAC, and Felon Musk. Congratulations, Republicans, you have your white man in the White House, but what horrendous price you and the rest of us are going to pay over the next several years is incalculable, like losing Medicaid funding for you or your elderly parents.

The people on Medicaid are overwhelmingly Democrat voters that can't find gainful employment or don't seek it. With the tariffs in place, illegals being deported, and jobs returning to the US, they should now be able to find jobs that pay more and offer benefits. People are overwhelmingly on Medicaid due to 1.) laziness and 2.) low wages due to the exact things Trump is fixing. That is the solution to this problem - not, just keep on subsidizing corporations refusing to pay living wages by giving taxpayer subsidies.

Also, he's a notorious liar...

"According to the business magazine Fortune, the host of the podcast Bannon's War Room said in an episode that was released on Thursday:

"Medicaid, you gotta be careful. Because a lot of MAGAs are on Medicaid, I'm telling you. If you don't think so, you are dead wrong."

Louisiana (32.4), Kentucky (28.3), West Virginia (28.2) and Arkansas (27.4) were among seven states that had more than 25 percent of their population on the Medicaid program, according to the health policy research website KFF.

All four were also states that voted for Trump in the 2024 election, and West Virginia is among the top five most Republican-leaning states in the country, according to analysis by the election website FiveThirtyEight."

He's worse than Steve F-in' Bannon, hahaha!

Do you believe that:

1.) tariffs
2.) deporting illegals

will result in higher wages for US workers? Yes or No.

Done by a sane president?

Possibly.

Trump is not sane. He's a mentally ill wrecking ball with a cult following.

4 out of 5 medicaid recipients live in an urban areas
www.medicaid.gov

Why continue with the red state/blue state nonsense? It is blue shithole cities in majority red rural and suburban states - doesn't matter if we are talking about Alabama or California.

Further, Democrats get the majority of low income voters (the ones on medicaid) at a 58% to 36% rate

Why do you seem to hate your Democrat voter base?

Read this as many time as you need, 'dipshit'.

#14 | Posted by Alexandrite at 2025-04-15 08:40 PM

You should really learn how to read... or at least how to do the math.

Take a lesson from your fellow Cultist Bannon and smell the red roses.

It'll likely help if you remove your nose from Traitor Trump's diaper first.

Or not.

I want you to state it clearly - because 6 months from now when the impact of the tariffs and deportations start to show in the jobs and wage data, I want to be able to point and laugh at you.

You dipshits need to learn how to write clearly. Let's read this again:

Trump is not sane. He's a mentally ill wrecking ball with a cult following.
#11 | Posted by Alexandrite"

Based on his comment - it means that a sane president may be able to do this.

However, he then states Trump is not sane but does not define what happens in this condition. If they are not sane, does it become a definite yes or definite no? This is just logic 101. I want him to be clear because I will be here pointing and laughing when Trump accomplishes exactly this.

They would prefer that anyone who doesn't pay for private insurance simply hurry up and die.

#18 | Posted by Whatsleft at 2025-04-15 09:37 PM

"#18 | Posted by Whatsleft"

Insurance is not the solution - we need to decrease the cost of the services.

This will only come through breaking the power of the AMA as well as reducing the hospital administrative overhead. Along with this, we need to cap malpractice payouts so that insurance costs for the doctors can also be reduced.

This is the same problem liberals have with the budget deficit - they only focus on how to spend more money side of the equation and never on reducing costs.
