Los Angeles on Pace for Lowest Homicide Rate in 60 Years

Homicides across Los Angeles fell by more than 20% in the first half of the year, leaving the city on pace to end 2025 with its lowest total for that crime category in nearly 60 years, according to an LAPD tally.

Crime has been falling for decades across the US even while we have 25% of the global prison population 70% of which are awaiting trail.

So, in 4 years, Biden racked up 20% more bodies than Trump - who had great numbers until the Democrats spurred the 'summer of love'. Only in 2024 did the Dems start to make actual progress but still did not reach the lowest put up by Trump.

Well, first off, making claims about different reasons why this occurred, one has to wonder why they came up with distant causal relationships between numbers but didn't mention the glaring one that is most recent...Trump stopped immigration SIGNIFICANTLY. I don't find it surprising at all, less immigrants and less murders...shocking! While the numbers were going down already, they only started to steeply decline when the border closed.

I mean, if you are going to make generalized statements with very little factual basis, let's not ignore the ones with more empirical evidence than the longshots mentioned in the article. Whether it's true or not is inconsequential, all that matters is we include every possibility and stop being stupidly biased in our conclusions.

Secondly, since LA decided to stop reporting metrics regarding metadata of crimes, conclusions are even harder to make. They don't report details of the crimes anymore so there is no way to even determine what the decline can be attributed to (2022 and after).

Thirdly, if everything that was good under Biden was Biden's fault and everything bad under Biden was Trump's fault as all Dems like to say, then everything good under Trump is Trump's fault. Thank you Trump!
