Giving Putin the green light.

Not even 30 days for the US to surrender to him.

GOP gotta be proud.

And with that, an utterly unqualified white nationalist drunk has done what two World Wars, a 50-year Cold War, and thirty years of global upheaval could not do: defeated America in Europe.

I was just thinking something like this---

1) Donald Trump lost the Cold War.

2) Donald Trump lost World War II

MAGA has no pride.

Not snark.

If you take this idea seriously then a lot of crazy behavior on their part becomes much less crazy but infinitely more pathetic.

This is going to be bad

@#4 ... This is going to be bad ,,,

Pres Trump appears to be checking off Pres Putin's checklist of wants:

- Ukraine not a member of NATO - check

- EU cut out of Ukraine peace talks - check

- pushing Pres Zelensky out of office - check

- the US won't help to protect Ukraine after the peace deal - check.

etc.

Negotiating with Pres Putin should be done from a starting position of strength.

Pres Trump looks to be doing it from a starting position of surrender and weakness.

DJT has offended almost every ally and major trade partner now, and is on his knees for Russia, as expected.

Vlad will end up getting what land he has now, and Ukraine will have to give up what they have taken. And Vlad will have caused the deaths of 100's of thousands of civilians and soldiers on both sided for almost nothing.

Putin Scored a Win With Trump. Now He May Want More on Ukraine
www.bloomberg.com

... "Putin believes that Trump should be seduced, that he should be flattered from head to toe," said Tatiana Stanovaya, founder of the political consultancy R.Politik. "He is very invested in negotiations with Trump, but he's also preparing for the scenario to deal with Ukraine without Trump and continue to bomb it into capitulation."

Putin scored huge wins from the 90-minute phone call on Wednesday, the first publicly announced contact between the US and Russian leaders since he ordered the February 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Trump abandoned his predecessor President Joe Biden's policy of refusing to engage with Russia without Kyiv's involvement, and reversed long-held US positions supporting Ukraine's territorial integrity and ambitions to join NATO. ...

Isn't Hegspeth supposed to submit to a breathalyzer test before opening his pie hole? I mean, it would be the least you'd expect.

This drunkard was booed by American military families in Germany, forgot "E Pluribus Unum", uses Old Glory as a pocket square. Are there any Republicans proud of this tattooed dipsomaniac who paid hush money to a sexual assault victim in California, or the quisling in the White House?

That pocket square summed him up perfectly.

Oh please... a major part of the civil unrest in the country is due to this "The Greatest Military in the Whirrrled" losing war after war. Our "veterans" and their families get no "satisfactory" resolution to the conflict they (we) sacrificed themselves for. They get no "Victory Parades" in honor of their actions like granpappy got. Our "might" is a bluff... only kept in place by the reality of mutual destruction...

Your republicl0wn "Commanders in Chief" wannabe "War Presnits" Nixon and Bush and Bush... loss, losing, and lost... the last ones were the longest in US history... for zilch... and the sale of our largest oil refinery to the ones who financed the wars against us.... even after "crippling economic sanctions" they still managed to kick our asses out of their affairs. There was a reason the "Coalition of the Willing" flopped...

Furthermore... the way the US treats Canada the only country that stuck it out with us with boots on the ground... the rest walked away long ago...

You overrate our imperialistic capabilities... which is what you are cheering for.

Our military couldn't protect us from 9/11... they were caught with their pants down...frantically flying in circles wondering wtf just bombed their headquarters. Civilians did it armed with box cutters... and civilians armed with less... brought those planes down.

Europe lost 75 million people in WW2.... mostly civilians... (because wars are won by civilians)... fighting Hitler compared to our reluctant half a million.

Canada was already engaged in WW2 two years before the US got over its anti-Semitism.

step up their game indeed.... ppppfffffttttt... puhleeze.

P.S. Well over half the world is Socialist... True story...

Don't say "wake-up call" around Hegspeth. He thinks it's a drinking game.

#16 | Posted by Doc_Sarvis at 2025-02-15 05:58 AM

Since Trump would more than likely be unsuccessful at removing the U.S. from NATO vis-a-vie Congress, this warning sounds more like Trump trying to turn a loss into a win.

Plan B, so to speak.

You all in the US......leaders of this "free" world here in the US.
You are going to be the cause of WWIII. It will ALL be on YOU. Alienating every ally the US has had since the end of WWII. Trying to remove us from NATO. A group of countries who are committed to protecting EACH OTHER from threats.
Destroying everything.
God have mercy on our souls because you idiots are going to get us ALL killed.
While you will be sitting pretty in some fall out bunker that the average US citizen has NO ACCESS TOO.
WAKE UP USA. They are DESTROYING US.

#20 | Posted by morris at 2025-02-16 12:13 AM

Hegseth is 100% correct.

The focus of the US military is defending Taiwan against the Chinese. Even in a NATO fight, the US is almost certainly going to remain focused on the Pacific theater. Fortunately, about half the NATO partners have been focused on building up their military forces, including buying F-35s.

The US will always play a role in the defense of Europe, but it will never be the lead role. That's just not practical.

#21 | Posted by madbomber at 2025-02-16 04:45 AM

Europe needs to start paying fire want the US to continue providing security.

He is basically teling them to 'man up' [militarily] if they want our continued backing, as we have been paying the lions share [our tax dollars] for NATO and our country is not even on the front line [continent].

"The United States remains the world's largest military spender by far. In dollar terms, the US represents about two-thirds of NATO countries' annual defense spending, budgeting an estimated $967bn."Jul 11, 2024
