A couple who voted for President Donald Trump in the 2024 election say they feel "betrayed" after their green card-holding son was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The story behind the story and why this couple deserves ZERO sympathy:

As Argentines, this couple knows full well the malevolence that a right-wing autocratic dictatorship can afflict on a people. Argentina suffered under fascist rule from from ~1976 to 1983. The "Dirty War" led to thousands and thousands of disappearances, children abducted to provide families for military officers unable to procreate, and torture in the prisons. Estimates of victims killed range from 22,000 to 30,000.

Last October I had lunch with a doctor friend who is a muslim who told me he was voting for dotardo because he is going to end the war in Gaza.

I told him that dotardo is lying and has no intention of helping any muslim community out ever.

He called me after dotardo gave bibi the green light to destroy Gaza to apologize. I told him that he did not need to apologize to me.

He asked me how did I know and I told him, easy...trump has always been a) a racist, b)a muslim hater and c)a compulsive liar his entire life.

It's one thing to be ignorant of what (then) Mr. Trump said he would do if elected.

It's quite another to support his plans thinking they would only be applied to "someone else".
This latter group deservedly should receive: no empathy, no sympathy, much derision, and much scorn.

I know a BUNCH of Lebanese people. A couple are really good friends, really we have kind of been accepted into their family. They kept telling us how the invasion in southern Lebanon was not a big deal where they visited and their relatives lived. "This happens all the time... etc." I told them this is different. "We aren't Muslim so it won't come here." Well then the bombs fell. The Israelis dropped bombs some Hezbollah traveling through their village. Killed and wounded a bunch of people. Our friends lost an uncle and cousin and another wounded. Their parents family house - all the windows blown out and other damage.

Our friends know very well how we feel. They tell us they didn't vote for Trump but I know at least most of the other Lebanese people we know well did. I even asked a couple of them - are you not paying attention? Trumps own team leaked that he is telling Nuttyahoo "Do what you need to. He has announced expanded travel bans he intends and they include Lebanese now." I also told them that there isn't a US President that wouldn't support Israel - some more than others...

... In 2020, Gentile was convicted in California of misdemeanor infliction of injury and sentenced to three years' probation -- a case that was closed in 2023, according to the Journal Constitution. ...

So he served his punishment for the crime.
