Everything Africans touch goes to crap

The new South African regime is destroying South Africa. South Africa's ambassador to Washington was thrown out of the U.S. for calling Trump a "White supremacist." South Africa took legal action against U.S. ally Israel, accusing it of genocide in its war in Gaza, at the International Court of Justice. Ramaphosa's ruling party, the ANC, has shown support for the terror group Hamas. Trade and military links with Iran and allegedly nuclear co-operation. Shown support for the designated terrorist group Hezbollah. Military links with Russia. The creation of the controversial Land Expropriation Act, which is aimed at seizing land the government wants in certain circumstances without compensation and which reportedly led to Trump's focus on White Afrikaner families and claims they are being killed.

Nigeria is doing real well. A bunch of countries that didn't go China are. South Africa has been failing for decades, though - it's run by communists. Also, rape capitol of the world - the average woman is raped twice a year. 65% of women have been raped, and the rest are very well protected.

Elon's net worth is greater than the nominal GDP of entire country of South Africa.

Give South Africa another 20 years. Electricity will be on 2 hours per day and the roads will fall apart. In probably less than 5, they will be begging for food handouts as the farm land goes from productive to fallow. It is not like we don't already have the history lesson on where this leads - one just has to look at Rhodesia/Zimbabwe. With their policies, you would have to be literally insane to do any FDI in the country. Lastly, with infrastructure crumbling, mining will collapse - and with it - 25% of their exports. Again, we don't need to guess at how this plays out. The government will nationalize the mines after the farmland is stolen and they will run them like Venezuela, turning a valuable industry into a money losing enterprise.
