Democrats spooked by President Trump's state-sanctioned shows of force have shifted into five-alarm fire mode, warning he's pushing American democracy to the brink.

" A CNN analyst who once served as an FBI special agent defended some of the tactics used by Secret Service and FBI personnel in their clash with Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) Thursday.

Appearing on CNN's The Arena, security correspondent Josh Campbell said that agents acted appropriately in escorting the senator out of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's press conference after he interrupted.

"From a law enforcement perspective, we're really looking at three separate incidents that happened within a short period of time," Campbell explained. "First, you have the DHS secretary who was addressing the press. This was not a Q&A period, and she was interrupted. She was interrupted by someone who was speaking very loudly. And so her security detail confronts what we obviously now know to be the senator. And at that point, he is now going to be escorted out. You can't interrupt something like that that's already in progress without having those consequences."

Padilla was nowhere close. I initially thought he was a few feet away, not fifty. She certainly never felt encroached, ----, she barely missed a beat.

My view...

As a US Senator he had every reason to be there. The FBI seemed to agree, as they allowed him entry.

And, for the record, I may not agree with what he did. (future discussion)

But I will say, unequivocally, that he had more than ample justification to be there.

So, what else yer current alias got?

Some facts for the magat scum

1. This occurred in a highly secure federal building, so the idea he had a gun is ludicrous

2. Padilla was there for a meeting with head of US Northern command about the military operation.

3. Padilla was escorted to his meeting by FBI and HHS (?) personnel

4. When his meeting was postponed and he learned of the press conference he was escorted to that press conference by FBI and HHS (?) personnel

5. He was wearing a shirt that said US Senate, clearly visible

6. It is patently absurd that Noem's security or Noem did not recognize Padilla-Padilla is the ranking Senator on the subcommittee that oversees immigration

7. He responded to Noem's statement about liberating LA and was IMMEDIATELY confronted by security consisting of FBI and apparently Secret Service members.

8. He immediately identified himself by name and title

9. Noem has refused to respond to Padilla and his subcommittee's request for information

10. It is patently absurd that the FBI and, again, SS (possibly) did not know exactly who he was when he entered the room as he was escorted by other FBI agents.

11. Noem IMMEDIATELY lied about the encounter

This was a senator of the state of California. The state they were trying to militarize and were spreading viscous lies about.

First he should have been invited up on to the podium and given a chance to speak for his state after she was done.

Second Noam did not even try to remind him that there would be a question and answer afterwards and immediately resorted to violence.
