Music:No Rap Songs in the Top 40 for First Time in 35 Years

For the first time since 1990, the Top 40 on the Hot 100 doesn't contain a single rap song. The space is occupied, instead, by the entirety of Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl " now in its third week " as well as hits from Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, Kehlani, and Alex Warren, whose single "Ordinary" has spent 37 weeks on the chart.

And for the first time in decades: a) horror films are in contention for an Oscar; b) a Canadian team is playing in the World Series.

Back to music for a moment. This non-rap song from the late 1970s entered my mind while I was playing chess last night: www.youtube.com

My wife and I were fortunate to have heard this band perform live.

Music historians have said so, Corky.

And this band may have been the first punk band, preceding the NY Dolls, Ramones, the Clash, and the Misfits: deathfromdetroit.com

For whites only. We have long given up on white ratings systems. Movies, songs are whatever in the usa are all subject to the white racial ego. Enough said.

In the late 1960s a computer analyzed a theoretical bout between the undefeated heavyweight champions Rocky Marciano and Muhammad Ali. When the machine predicted Marciano would win, Muhammad Ali said to the effect: "A white man's computer has a white man winning. No surprise."

The two champions were filmed together for a hypothetical fight and they were on good terms.
