The parallels between the 1968 and 2024 POTUS elections are manifest, including both Tuesdays falling on 5 Nov, both DNCs holding conventions in Chicago, and both DNC conventions shutting out antiwar Samaritans. We can blame the anti-communist jingoists and the military-industrial complex cronies for that in 1968 and AIPAC Islamophobes in 2024.
Be that as it may, three candidates ran in 1968: Richard Nixon (R), Hubert Humphrey (D), and single-issue segregationist George Wallace (AIP). His racist American Independent Party (AIP) won 9.9m votes and a few Electoral College states.
In 1968, there was no political avenue for antiwar Samaritans with these three candidates, so in good conscience they stayed home.
Similarly, between Dummkopf Trumpf and Kamala Harris, who both supported Israel's pogrom against the Palestinians and POTUS Joe Biden who was labeled "Genocide Joe," there was no political avenue for antiwar Samaritans in 2024, so in good conscience they stayed home.
They didn't waste their time with Green Party candidate Dr Jill Stein who received a meager ~640,000 votes nationwide.
The answer to our binary system is to make AIPAC a single issue third party, like George Wallace did in 1968 with the AIP.
Instead of AIPAC funding candidates from both parties with billions of dollars in dark money, like betting on every horse in every race, they should become a political party unto itself in broad daylight under the powerful antiseptic power of the sun.
This way American voters have three choices on Election Day: Conservative Republicans, Progressive Democrats, or the single-issue America-Israel Party (AIP, like George Wallace's 1968 party).
