Music wise, I'm stuck in the 60's and 70's but having married late in life and subsequently having Gen Z kids I've been exposed to a lot of the later music.

I like this song.

This song was stuck in my head for days. So, I went looking for it and found this.

The joy the guy has playing along with it is worth it.

One of the greatest Friday night kickoff vids ever made.

In a former life, I used to run comedy clubs and a lingerie bar.

These are the songs I'd play to kick things off.

16. Harry Chapin, my first concert. Dec. 1, 1973, Sunday afternoon at NY Philharmonic (Avery Fisher) Hall.

First concerts anyone?

Mine was in Dallas in '67.

I had just gotten my drivers license and some girl in high school talked me into taking her to see Herman's Hermits at the Dallas Market Hall.

Little did I know that the opening act was The Who. They did Happy Jack, Summertime Blues, My Generation and more... then they started smashing their instruments on stage!

This was Texas, for F's Sake, no one had ever seen anything like it. I still don't remember the Hermits set at all. My music life was changed forever... next up was the Doors.

I bought the tickets by cutting out a coupon in the LA Times and mailing in a check.

Pearl Jam, Alpine Valley, 2000. Coldest show they ever played, according to Eddie. All shows on the tour were officially recorded and released on the cheap to subvert crazy die-hards paying $$$$ for illegal bootlegs (kinda the theme of their song, Corduroy)

Led Zepplin. Probably 72, 73. Drove over a hundred miles to buy tickets at the door for under 10 bucks. 3 hours with no no other act. My favorite. Turn it up! www.youtube.com

Big Cale fan here. Saw him in 80, 84, 85 in ATL, then went to his gig at Hopscotch in Raleigh in 2013 and hung out patiently for two hours back stage to see him. Got a great photo of me, my wife, and Cale. Spent about 10 minutes with him. One of my fondest memories.

Notably, in 85, he played Hallelujah, long before he ever recorded it. From what I can tell from jabbering with other Cale fans on YT, it had to have been one of the first times he played it live.

Cable Hogue, live, when he was still purging his demons. Brutal, and lovely, if you like, as I do, the shrieking.

34. Wouldn't surprise me. I remember when NE Atlanta seemed like a small town. Loved it in the early 80s, the whole AIDS thing notwithstanding.

My wife moved to off Lenox Rd. when it was still part dirt, 1964.

New Order - True Faith (1987)
www.youtube.com

en.wikipedia.org(song)

... The original lyrics included a verse that read "Now that we've grown up together/They're all taking drugs with me".

Hague convinced Bernard Sumner to change the latter line to "They're afraid of what they see" because he was worried that otherwise it would not get played on the radio.

When performing the song live, the band have usually used the original line. ...

Yeah, that song of New Order (nee, Joy Division) songs seem to be drug oriented.

Interesting video, though.
