... "this case could have easily gotten to trial. Only her incompetence and perceived bias has prevented that" in reference to Trump appointee, Judge Aileen Cannon. ...

I'm still not yet convinced it is her incompetence, as opposed to her seemingly intentional slow-walking of the trial, that is causing the delays.

So you are blaming it bias?

Nonsense! The American voter has no right; not even a need to know whether a presidential candidate stole nuclear secrets from the government before casting a ballot!

Judge hears two arguments to toss out charges in Trump classified documents case
www.upi.com

... The Florida judge in former President Donald Trump's classified documents case on Wednesday held two separate hearings with the defense teams hoping to get the charges tossed out.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, fielded arguments by lawyers representing Trump's valet and co-defendant, Walt Nauta, who claims the charges against him by prosecutors are vindictive. And another claiming the Trump indictment is flawed enough to be dismissed. ...

@#2 ... So you are blaming it bias? ...

I'm not convinced it is an "either or" thing.

That aside... Too soon for me to tell at this point.

What I see is an apparent slow-walking of the case.

I am not a lawyer, so take that as an opinion, nothing else.

C'mon man, everything here is an "either or" thing. Where do you think you are?

fwiw, I see a problem in the handling of this case.

The Delays.

I'm just not ready to ascribe a intended cause to the problem I see.

For example, "incompetent" has a negative connotation.

So let me as similar questions...

Is Judge Cannon incompetent? Or is she merely a newbie Judge trying to learn and understand the ramifications of her decisions in a very significant case?

My current opinion is that she may not be "unqualified."

She is new to this, so she is taking a lot of time to research and come to an opinion.

She's new to this. And she wants to make sure her opinions hold up.

What opinions? She has a slew of pre-trial motions on her desk that she hasn't even looked t yet.

Assuming she has clerks to do the grunt work, there aren't many other conclusions.

@#12 ... What opinions? She has a slew of pre-trial motions on her desk that she hasn't even looked t yet. ...

Yeah, those are the opinions she needs to render.

Regardless of the clerks she may have, those opinions will be hers to own up to.

As I said in #11

Really? After almost two years since the first subpoena. (August 8, 2020)

Other than the obvious slow walking, the other two conclusions are too lazy or too dumb for the job.

I'm inclined to believe she's just running out the clock on Trump's behalf. Much like what's happening in Georgia and the U.S. Supreme Court.

The prosecution tampered with evidence and documents in a trial that alleges the defendant illegally handled classified documents. The irony is thick.

Very naive view; more likely she sees this case as her ticket to the Supreme Court is Trump regains the Presidency. Democrats in the Senate should subtly let her know that dream is never going to happen. She's playing dirty

"Or is she merely a newbie Judge"

Probably the single stupidest thing I've heard.
You don't get to be a judge fresh out of law school.
Allegedly, she was a lawyer for years before being handpicked by the Orange Turd.
The law is the law.

This 'judge' probably knows that Jack Smith has evidence for further charges, and if she dismisses the charges in front of her Smith will file new charges about 15 minutes later, and the chance of another judge getting the case greatly improve...

Just to keep the record straight, the hearing before Judge Cannon the other day was about dismissing the charges against Trump's co-defendant, Walt Nauda. The hearing got very volatile and turned into a shouting match between attorneys that lasted well into the afternoon session.

Judge Cannon lost control of her courtroom and did not make a ruling from the bench.

If you want to review the nuts and bolts of this cage match that went on in that courtroom, please read the link. We need to keep things in perspective.

This hearing was only one in a host of other motions, perhaps even more than 100, that have been piling up on Cannon's desk, unaddressed, for nearly two years ~ some of which were (reportedly) too ridiculous for words. With all the recourses available to a federal judge, including competent clerks to do her grunt work, I find it unlikely that she let these motions pile up for nearly two years is because she feared a reversal. She knew that she could not set a court date until all the motions had been adjudicated. Therefore, she ignored the motions.

It couldn't be any more clear that she was stalling for time for the benefit of Donald Trump.

She really should be removed from the bench and disbarred for her bias, partisanship, incompetence, dereliction of duty and violation of her oath to be impartial.
