The Original Likud Charter from 1977 states that Israel will never acknowledge any Palestinian State, and that the Land of Israel extends "From the River to the Sea."

It's an abrogation of the rules by which Israel came up exist in the first place. Israel was very explicitly only one half of the Two State Solution.

obliterate
/'-blt'-rt, -blt-/

transitive verb
1. To remove or destroy completely so as to leave no trace. synonym: annihilate.
Similar: annihilate
2. To render invisible or unreadable, as by erasing or marking over.
3. To remove completely (a body organ or part), as by surgery, disease, or radiation.

Israel is doing #1 in Gaza, #2 in the West Bank, and #1 and #2 in East Jerusalem.

Israelis have been obliterating Palestinian villages since 1948, as in bulldozed them, and gave them new Israeli names.

When Iran says it will remove Israel from the face of the earth and the pages of history, that's what they are harkening back to.

Go read a history book.

Jews trace back to Abraham and his wife who had a son Issac.

"And then...to make matters worse, God made a covenant with Issacs lineage. Not Ishmael."

- - - -

From the Bible:
"After these things God tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here am I." [2] He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Mori'ah, and offer him there as a burnt offering upon one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

- - - -

There was never a time where Isaac was Abraham's "only son" but there was a time where Isma'il was because he was the first-born. Based on that, you can come to one of two conclusions: that God just conveniently forgot about Isma'il (or perhaps didn't count him because his mother wasn't Sarah) OR that the Bible has been corrupted and doctored to remove the truth and instead make the sacrifice pertain to the lineage of Issac.

I choose to accept the latter believing that God is fair and makes no distinction between those born in differing social circumstances. I do not believe in "a chosen people" for the same reason. The best people in God's eyes are those who are best in matters of faith and works alone.

"God says, Out on Highway 61."

The bride and I just got back from the Mississippi Blues Trail. Loved every bit of it. Favs were Natchez, Greenwood, Cleveland, and Robert Johnson's cemetery.

The powers-that-be didn't understand what Dylan meant when he wanted to call his new work "Highway 61 Revisited". (Dylan grew up near Highway 61 in Duluth, and felt his Blues roots came from there).

As the story goes, Dylan got nothing but pushback about the name, but kept driving on until the head of the label finally capitulated, saying, "Screw it; let him name it whatever the hell he wants!"

Ah, you're a musician. Don't remember knowing that, lol.

I do remember trying to be one, but never quite getting there; in third grade I pantomimed singing Ricky Nelson's Traveling Man. In Jr College I tried to learn Rock Me on the Water on keyboard... like about 20 million other people. Tried guitar, learned some chords, but then found out I had to use the other hand, too, and it was rhythm-challenged.

In college I went to 3 Tull concerts, got a flute (and played some sax) well enough to play with friends and at parties, but gave it all up when I had to sell out and play suit guy in the real world.

Got another flute a couple of years ago, finally. But still no virtuoso. It's good for my lungs, though.
