I'm surprised that Trump is connected personally with the licenses. He should have been prepared for a legal attack via application of novel and unprecedented legal theory to bundle and upgrade previously ignored and expired misdemeanors.

It's so sad that the guy who loves to hug the flag onstage as much as Donald does has to pay the consequences for the crimes he has committed.
He's also really good at that doing that double-handy dance. Yet they want to persecute this man simply because he's a criminal.
It's so unfair.

That's my first thought.
I wonder what's involved with that.
Can the license just be transferred, or does there need to be a new application?

NJ has a law prohibiting the "beneficial ownership" of a liquor license by a person otherwise disqualified by a criminal conviction from owning a liquor license. It seems to me that Dotardo would be benefiting from them holding the liqour license for his club.
I'm sure the proper payoffs will be made to ensure some loophole will be found.

Der Dotard will argue that he is not the owner of the club, that some corporation, partnership or LLC is the owner, not him. Of course, the issue of who the controlling party is (i.e., corporation president, general partner or LLC manager) will be avoided like a room where Trump farted for two hours...
