Former President Trump, if re-elected, plans to immediately test the boundaries of presidential and governing power, knowing the restraints of Congress and the courts are dramatically looser than during his first term, his advisers tell us.

More from the article...

... Why it matters: It's not just the Supreme Court ruling on Monday that presidents enjoy substantial legal immunity for actions in office. Trump would come to office with a Cabinet and staff pre-vetted for loyalty, and a fully compliant Republican coalition in Congress " devoid of critics in positions of real power.

- - - That's a big reason many Democrats worry President Biden is making one of the biggest gambles in U.S. history by staying in the race amid acute concerns about his age.

The big picture: Trump promises an unabashedly imperial presidency " one that would turn the Justice Department against critics, deport millions of people in the U.S. illegally, slap 10% tariffs on thousands of products, and fire perhaps tens of thousands of government staff deemed insufficiently loyal.

- - - He'd stretch the powers of the presidency in ways not seen in our lifetime. He says this consistently and clearly " so it's not conjecture.

You might like this or loathe this. But it's coming, fast and furious, if he's elected.

- - - Thanks to Monday's Supreme Court ruling, Trump could pursue his plans without fear of punishment or restraint.

What to watch: To hear Trump and his allies tell it, this is how early 2025 would unfold if he wins: ...

And given the impact of the SC ruling broadly speaking, it makes you wonder about election integrity. What do the SC justices know about whether the fix is in?

Project 2025. Might as well start reading up on how to subvert its tactics. "Blue-Anon" is not voting for Biden, I had the misfortune of reading some of their comments on an Instagram account that I've since blocked from showing up in my feeds because I don't need to see that $#!+

The desperation that rolls off the left is picking up steam the closer November gets and the worse bitem looks.
Next will be rumors about Trump building a castle with a moat and draw bridge.

#5 - you interpret legitimate concern for our Republic and our lives correctly. Any sane person that's aware of what is going on would be. Why do you think that's an insult?

Re 5

We are obviously at a turning point in history.

Anyone with even a little knowledge of history should be very concerned about the future direction of this country and by extension the world.

We managed to dodge disaster and hold the line in the last election (barely) but I don't think our luck will hold much longer. Not unless the Democrats find the courage and strength to stand up to the lawlessness of the Republicans and do what needs to be done. (or unless the universe intervenes on our behalf.. it's happened before!)

But unfortunately I don't think anyone or anything is coming to save us from ourselves and we definitely shouldn't be counting on that.

No need for fmr Pres Trump to build that should he win in November.

The Supreme Court, with its immunity ruling, has already built it for him.

It's hilarious to me that Axios is complaining about powers the office legitimately has, like deportation.

You should let Axios know that if Biden orders your depuration, it's a legal order, and you don't want them complaining about it, because it's a legal order.

Hilarious? To you? Oh, sure, of course. But for a normal? Naaah, what's really hilarious is watching you slither along that sliding scale of blatantly reflexive sycophancy you evidently believe circumstances warrant you follow. Now that's hilarious.

Read project 2025 laughing boy.

Here is just a few of his proposals ...

8. Focus on the Southern Border While Trump's primary focus remains on the southern border, it's worth noting that his plan also targets legal immigration. For instance, he intends to scrutinize the ideologies of immigration applicants by searching their social media accounts, adding a layer to the already existing practice of providing social media handles.

(Emphasis mine.)

9. Financial and Health Requirements: Furthermore, Trump plans to demand proof of health insurance affordability from prospective immigrants and impose significant bonds on some travelers seeking entry into the US.

10. Potential Challenges Inevitable: Many of these proposals, such as designating cartels as 'unlawful enemy combatants' and initiating a naval blockade, could escalate tensions with Mexico. Additionally, Trump's reliance on Mexico for the 'Remain in Mexico' policy could raise humanitarian concerns.

11. Legal Battles Ahead: Trump's team is leaning on two sections of U.S. law to justify these plans: INA Section 212(f), which grants the president the authority to suspend the entry of aliens whose presence he deems detrimental to the United States, and the Alien Enemies Act, part of the old Alien and Sedition Acts signed way back in 1798.

But don't worry. There won't be any legal challenges. If the President does it then it's not illegal. So sayeth the Supremes.

The behavior you thought was "fun" the first time no longer seems fun and you would like to put that genie back in the bottle.

Guess what? It doesn't work that way. ENJOY.

That's quite the ridiculous false equivalence and rationalization.
