Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, July 14, 2024

The NBA coach Steve Kerr, who is leading Team USA in the Summer Olympics, lost his father to assassination in 1984 in Beirut. His reaction to what happened yesterday: "It's such a demoralizing day for our country, and it's yet another example of not only our political division but also gun culture. A 20-year-old with an AR-15 trying to shoot the former president. It's hard to process everything, and it's scary to think about where this goes because of the issues that already exist in the country. So this is a terrible day. Thank God Trump wasn't hit, but it's just so demoralizing in every which way."

"A 20-year-old with an AR-15 trying to shoot the former president."

Because the former President and his party are bought and paid for by the NRA, and have no intention to ever do anything about the leading cause of death among children in this country, gun violence.

thats a disgraceful thing to post.

My apologies if that offends you, ALEX. I'm just not as nice as you are.

My sympathies are for my country ~ not the lying, egomaniacal, narcissistic, sociopath who is trying to change democracy into a Russian-esq dictatorship.

Trump's calling card was violence. I'm not going to complain because he got what he was asking for.

Twinpac,

It's one thing to engage in nasty rhetoric - Democrats do it a ton. It's not just Trump. Calling Trump a dictator, or calling Obama a Marxist is one thing.

Openly rooting for a successful assassination of a political opponent in this country is a whole different level.

That crosses a major red-line.

If he had actually killed Trump, all hell would've broken loose, MAGAts would've declared open season on all the "lib+@rd$"

Of course they would. Because they're ignoramuses.

Release the pearls.

Trump is the only major political figure in this country who has been consistently involved in pitching hate and conspiracist lies, stirring the cauldron with the sort of violent rhetoric often displayed by physical cowards. Sometimes, when you play with fire you get burned. He will, however, learn absolutely nothing positive from the experience. Nor, it would appear, will those whose self-esteem is so damaged they've signed on for cultic worship.

Republicl0wns think this is important because of the orange sacred cow thingie...

On the other hand... if it was a school full of children mowed down by an incel... or maybe an outdoor concert...

then it's all thoughts and prayers... what else is there?

Orangepig scrapes his ear on the podium...let's give him a medal.

You were told years ago that Trump was begging to be shot.

He's still begging.

In regards to "major red lines", I've lost count of how many Trump crossed.

"If he had actually been killed"

Those who went to prison for Trump would certainly have cause to shed a tear or two.

Those pardons they depended upon would go POOF!

I'm sorry, but this is politics in the raw.

It's Donald Trump who has been stripping himself and every politician and citizen from the protections of the American system.

Sooner of later, the bill comes due.

Red line? Come off it. Trump erased any red line for himself long ago. It vanished, washed clean out by his vomiting a sewage of lies, innuendos, cruelties, and threats.

If anything, Trump has invented new red lines to cross since he lost the 2020 election.

He calls it "doubling down."

January 6 for example. And the seemingly endless stream of accusations of fraud that never had any substance, except to cast doubt about the authenticity of Joe Briden's presidency and convince his cult that THEY had been wronged.

However, I do understand why. Mr. Putin was watching . . . very carefully.

Trump is lucky he was given another chance . . . instead of a polonium laced Diet Coke.

Breathtaking outrage from the supporters of a man who stated: "I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and wouldn't lose any voters, ok? It's, like, incredible."

You can hear it exactly at the link below.

I have yet to find such a video or speech from the Democratic incumbent occupying the White House, but I am still looking.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, I abhor violence and condemn all political violence, but I will draw attention to the irrefutable fact that the world would be a far better place had Georg Elser set his clock 15 minutes earlier.

Also, I am still waiting for ANY 2nd Amendment advocate to explain what Mr. Crooks did was wrong. All he did was use his god given right to use a gun to attempt to kill what he perceived to be a tyrant.

I think this is an incredibly important question.

You see, I believe that the 2nd Amendment was America's second sin, therefore, I can in good conscience argue against political assassinations.

I cannot for the life of me understand the opposing view. Perhaps they are deluded in what the 2nd Amendment means? Perhaps they are blind partisans? I don't know.

Will they justify some magat nutter taking a shot a Biden? I don't know.

Their silence on this issue today speaks volumes.

Ballwasher the stooge, who ignores his orange-faced god's call for violence, has a "red line".

What a ------- joke.

Why again do we care what Steven Kerr thinks?
Nothing has changed. Only one way to save the country
in November. Make sure Trump never gains the White House again...
