Could it be any more clear that our system is a corporate Oligarchy. Not a representative democracy?
Years ago, poor people actually got elected to national office.
Corporations and AIPAC and other deep pocketed special interests didn't monopolize the pool of viable candidates by making it so exorbitant to seek high office.
It was financially in the reach of ordinary people without political connection to interest groups.
Now it takes billions of dollars to get elected President. A position that pays $400,000 dollars a year. Good money, to be sure, but not anything outrageous.
Our system is not like any other except maybe Russia where Oligarchs openly have fiefdoms and control entire regions.
In America it's less open and more hidden under a facade of"electability" but one can be absolutely certain of one thing... If the biggest Donors blackball a candidate they're Toast.
Biden is the Prime Example.
The Donors boycotted him and a week later Kamala was the latest Shiny New Object.
Trump has his billionaire donors and the DNC have theirs.
The public doesn't pick the Candidates or really decide the outcome. It's not a free election because only the most wealthy even get into the game. Only the richest Donors get any true representation.
Hidden Oligarchs set the agenda.
