Karen Tumulty: The standout moment in Kamala Harris's first interview as Democratic presidential nominee consisted of a mere seven words: "Same old tired playbook. Next question, please." Let's hope Harris continues to shrug off Donald Trump's racist and misogynist attacks. It's clearly driving him crazy.

Recent days have seen Trump spiraling. In a single 24-hour period, he used his social media platform to spread a crass joke about Harris performing a sex act; suggested without evidence that she and President Joe Biden were partially responsible for the assassination attempt upon him; promoted a QAnon slogan; and sent out fake images of Harris and a host of other leading Democratic figures in orange prison uniforms.

Harris's team has, wisely, declined to comment on his antics. As one campaign official put it to me: "Why would we step in this man's way?"

During her nomination acceptance speech, Kamala Harris said that Trump "... is not a serious man." That pre-eternally prescient observation may prove to be the determinant factor in this year's presidential race.

"Same old tired playbook."

Succinct. That about sums him up.

She's picked up her game and now is trolling him to debate with open mics:

Harris said that Donald Trump is "surrendering to his advisers who won't allow him to debate with a live microphone." Next month's ABC News debate between Harris and Trump will have no audience, and mics will be muted when candidates aren't speaking, just as the debate in June between Trump and Biden.

"If his own team doesn't have confidence in him, the American people definitely can't," Harris, who has been pushing for a mics-on debate, wrote on X.

"We are running for President of the United States. Let's debate in a transparent way - with the microphones on the whole time."

Damn. I, Charles Barkley-style 'gare-rone-TEE' that Kamala Harris has taken up residence inside Trump's dome without paying a red cent in rent.

The only thing missing from her above statement is this finishing flourish:

Man up Donald, or would you like to have a new pair of my favorite brand of undies?

@#5 ... She's picked up her game and now is trolling him to debate with open mics: ...

Not just trolling fmr Pres Trump, but also seeming to try to use the topic to further the apparent disagreement between fmr Pres Trump and his campaign handlers.

"Trump being Trump" is the absolute last thing his campaign handlers want to happen.

Maybe if CNN gets an interview with him, they'll ask him when he decided to be orange...oh wait, that's not possible, they will bend over backwards to make him sound reasonable and sane...

I remain to be convinced that making fmr Pres Trump sound reasonable and sane is possible.

Curious stuff...

CNN Shoots Down Pro-Trump Conspiracy That Network Cut Kamala Harris Interview in Half To Protect Her
www.mediaite.com

... CNN shot down a conspiracy theory spreading on social media among supporters of former President Donald Trump that Vice President Kamala Harris's interview was edited down by half in an attempt to protect her.

Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, a vocal Trump backer, responded to a post from a pro-MAGA account on X that made the claim the interview was 41 minutes long and more than half was left on the cutting room floor.

"Is there any world in which [CNN] would tape an interview with [Donald Trump] and edit it for broadcast to remove any inconsistencies, mistakes, or controversial statements?" Ackman wrote in response.

A CNN spokesperson confirmed to Mediaite that the interview was 27 minutes long in total and aired in full. While the interview was pre-taped, it was not edited down. Pre-taping is standard industry practice for major interviews. Fox News pre-taped their interview with Trump and his running mate JD Vance. ...

So ... the Trump supporters, in their failed attempt to promote the ~edited~ conspiracy, in reality seem to be admitting that the CNN interview of VP Harris and Gov Walz was quite good. And that they have to make up stuff to try to discredit it.

LAMP,

I agree, but that doesn't mean they don't try to do it.

All of the MSM is ignoring or intentionally avoiding reporting on his decompensation. That was the narrative for Joe Biden, they simply need FDT in the news, because without him, they won't be able to sell their product.
