Oh, that reminds me, I need to stock up on bird seed for the feeders this winter.
Of course, now, here in Connecticut, it is still legal to have a bird feeder in your yard.
That is, until someone complains about a bear accessing that feeder. Then it becomes illegal.
The number of bears breaking into houses here in Connecticut has risen lately.
CT hits record of bear encounters. Officials advise how to avoid conflicts. www.courant.com
So far, there have been no bears sited in this area of CT, but if that citation occurs, that bird feeder is taken down.

My guess is that those circumstances will be expanded in the coming years.

"The wise man will shoot and eat them."
Finches and warblers and sparrows and such?
You think it's "wise" to kill and eat them?
Seriously? That's sounds more like foolish desperation than wisdom.
The cost of the bullets (not to mention the gun) could buy you much more nourishment than a bunch of dead sparrows could provide.

There you go again, running your mouth like a sick chicken's ax, about something you know nothing about. Blackbird pie used to be a thing. Harvested using #9s fired into a passing flock.
