... The question will appear on every ballot in the state, allowing voters to determine if the Connecticut state constitution is altered to allow no-excuse, absentee voting for all. "This election, voters have the opportunity to make their voices heard on not only who represents them at the federal and state levels, but also on how Connecticut can vote in the future," said Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas. "By voting on this measure, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our government in Connecticut and make your voice heard for future generations." ...

Should CT allow no-excuse absentee voting?
Why not?
As noted in the article: "In the past 40 or 50 years, 36 states and the District of Columbia have passed absentee voting for all."
"Twenty-eight states offer "no-excuse" absentee voting, which means that any voter can request and cast an absentee/mail ballot, no excuse or reason necessary. Eight states and Washington, D.C., conduct elections entirely by mail (California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Vermont and Washington), which means voters do not need to request a ballot, and instead automatically receive one. "Should CT allow no-excuse absentee voting?"
Absolutely.
Ask folks if it should be made easier for a legal voter to cast a legal vote, and the suppressionists will immediately start telling lies about the efficacy of voting.

It's not elementary school. I don't need a ------- excuse for being absent.

... and your evidence of illegal voters is... where?
Stated differently...
What evidence do you have of "illegal voters" casting "illegal votes" because of mail-in ballots?

36 states already allow no excuse absentee voting.
Let your MAGAt conspiracy theory-laden mind run wild. If there's any room in there between the Haitians eating Snoopy and Garfield and the Jewish space laser hurricanes.

New York now has a vote by mail option:
Apply for an Early Mail Ballot
Who May Apply for an Early Mail Ballot
Any registered voter may apply for an early mail ballot. Each person must apply for themselves. It is a felony to make a false statement in an application for an early mail ballot, to attempt to cast an illegal ballot, or to help anyone to cast an illegal ballot.

Adopt Oregon's vote by mail system for all elections, local as well as national...watch as the people vote without having to fight voter suppression, bad weather, child care problems, getting off from work problems, watch as the Republican Party has to actually listen to the majority...

Yeah, that is the hypocritical aspect of Republicans complaining about illegal voting, i.e., it seems that recently it mainly has been Republicans who have been caught casting illegal or invalid votes.
