What's the expression that has been making the rounds of MAGA since the election?

Oh yeah ... "Your body, my choice."

"Parlatore said the payment to the married woman was of "a significantly reduced amount" and that Hegseth, a veteran turned Fox News host, settled because it was during the "Me Too" movement and he didn't want to lose his job at the network if the accusation became public. The attorney's statement did not say how much Hegseth's accuser was paid in the settlement.

Parlatore said Hegseth felt that he was the victim of blackmail."such important positions.

The Sec. of Defense position is too critical to allow any confidentiality agreement to prevent an investigation into every aspect of his life, the mere mentiion of the fear of blackmail requires that investigators know every detail of anything that could compromise uim and the same should even apply to Presidents. No stone should be left unturned to find potential vulnerabilities for compromise.

NW post.

It would appear that's a feature, not a flaw to the Trump administrations plan.

Lawrence O'Donnell had an interesting reminder that Trump fires people after a few months.

Particularly those who criticize him in any way.

Hegseth doesn't seem to want to be critical of anything other than woke trans abortion issues - which is the faked news trifecta.

He's a thirsty, low-IQ disinformation agent operating for a foreign interest.

Moreso than Leon, perhaps.

@#7 ... Lawrence O'Donnell had an interesting reminder that Trump fires people after a few months. ...

Yeah, but that may have been more likely because of his first term when he hired more capable people instead of adulators.

The Pres-elect Trump team seems more concerned this time around to be vetting his nominees for loyalty to the MAGA-cult as opposed to loyalty to the Constitution.

But, getting back to the topic of the thread ...

Trump defense secretary pick Pete Hegseth denies sexual assault allegation, acknowledges payment to accuser
www.nbcnews.com

... In a statement, Hegseth's attorney said the former Fox News host paid a woman in 2023 who had previously accused him of sexual assault but maintained that the woman lied. ...

Apparently, he was reluctant (unable?) to prove that she lied, so ... instead chose the payoff route.

Have we been here before?

Hush-money payments?

If Fox relegated him to weekends it's likely he is already totally owned with a history.

I wonder if this was a co-worker would Fox have any knowledge of this predicament? Or any others?

If his military service is unblemished I'd be surprised.

The government is not meant to survive Trump appointments, but it will try.

You guessed it, right there in Pete's contract: "capable of adulatoration upon command".

Yes!

Hopefully, that attempt succeeds.

Lots of innocent people pay off their accusers.

I find it quite surprising that the first thing the Qanon cult GOP House did was attempt to bury a report about sex trafficking an underage girl.

Every accusation is a confession.

Wow, all this controversy from the left about how important that we vet appointees. All I can think of when I remember Biden's picks is the non-binary woman's luggage thief.

Well, that totally excuses Trump picking the most grossly unqualified candidates for his administration.

Thanks for being special, stupid.

Democrat freak show is what they have and Americans hate freak shows. There is nothing Dems offer that Americans want.

Like they said Kamala is for they-them (Rachel Levine etc) and Trump is for you!
