"Congress has the Power to Block Trump from Taking Office"

Oh, not this again ...

Two-thirds vote in each house.

I think this was also brought up during the campaign. Running out of time now unless the House can put on a show about not picking a new Speaker for a week or so. That would set everything back past Trump's confirmation date.

I have no idea what happens after that.

We don't have a Congress with a backbone. It'll never happen sadly.

Congress may have the power, but they don't have the backbone since billionaires started getting two votes to our one>

They get a vote as a Citizen, and another in terms of interests the policy 'votes' of their Corporations; who now have Personhood under the Constitution, thanks mainly to Est Republicans.

But don't worry about Est Republicans... Trumpers are the best thing that ever happened to them; they get to run the Gov AND set the rules for themselves and the Corporations they own.

So, Fascism, as Mussolini and every Encyclopedia defines.

Oh puhlease Corky. Both parties are owned by the billionaire class. Why do you think Kamala refused to go after them

#6 | Posted by LauraMohr at 2024-12-26 07:32 PM | Reply

Well since you used the please word... the Parties are STILL no the same.

Dems will vote for most of the things you want, the Trumpers will do as they are told.

Campaign Finance Reform is something Dems vote for, Republicans not so much.

And it's the key to curbing the fascist dogs.

"The unlikelihood of congressional Republicans doing anything that might elect Harris as president is obvious.

But Democrats need to take a stand against Electoral College votes for a person disqualified by the Constitution from holding office unless and until this disability is removed. No less is required by their oath to support and defend the Constitution."

from the thread article

Republicans in the House don't like it when an unelected, unqualified civilian billionaire (Musk) is sticking his nose in government business as if he thinks he's the co-president-elect.

They could put Trump on notice by gumming up the works.
