More from the article ...

... The squadron, which trained in the state, was the nation's first to be comprised of Black military pilots, shattering racial barriers and racist beliefs about the capabilities of Black pilots. Their success in combat paved the way for the desegregation of the U.S. military, a story that is interwoven in state and U.S. history. Yet for a moment after President Donald Trump took office, that history was almost scrubbed by the Air Force.

The service removed training videos of the Tuskegee Airmen along with ones showing the World War II contributions of the Women's Airforce Service Pilots, or WASPs, at its basic training base in San Antonio, where airmen have passed through for generations.

Although the move was swiftly rescinded after a bipartisan outcry, the fact that it happened even momentarily is evidence of the confusion resulting from the avalanche of executive orders and other actions from Trump since he began his second term in the White House. ...

Well, yeah.

If you look at the objections raised about anyone who is not a male White Christian nationalist, it does seem as if Pres Trump wants to return the Country to the 18th century, when white men ruled.

Yep... giving women the vote... even giving blacks and browns the vote? Big mistakes!

The biggest mistakes may have been Teddy Roosevelt breaking up the Oligarch's Monopolies. How dare he! Putting the People before the very wealthy. Who does that?

And then FDR dares to level the playing field just a bit by actually taxing millionaires. Who does he think he is?

No... this country was better off in the Gilded Years of the Rule of the Wealthy.

Fortunately, Trumpers have made sure that those years are coming back NOW!

Thanks, Trumpers!

...
People are people, so why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully?
People are people, so why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully?

[Verse 1: Dave Gahan]
So we're different colours and we're different creeds
And different people have different needs
It's obvious you hate me, though I've done nothing wrong
I've never even met you, so what could I have done?

What makes a man
Hate another man
Help me understand

Considering that it was American Conservatives in the late 1920's and throughout the 1930's that helped Hitler carry out his NAZI ambitions. You'd be absolutely correct. Trump and MAGA wants to return us to the the time where Cis white males rule and everyone else was subordinate to them. That's what's going on here.

The role of the conservative elite in the Nazi rise to power
www.theholocaustexplained.org

... The conservative elite were the old ruling class and new business class in Weimar Germany. Throughout the 1920s they became increasingly frustrated with the Weimar Republic's continuing economic and political instability, their lack of real power and the rise of communism. They believed that a return to authoritarian rule was the only stable future for Germany which would protect their power and money.

The first move towards this desired authoritarian rule was Hindenburg's increasing use of Article 48 . Between 1925-1931 Article 48 was used a total of 16 times. In 1931 alone this rose to 42 uses, in comparison to only 35 Reichstag laws being passed in the same year. In 1932, Article 48 was used 58 times.

The conservative elite's second move towards authoritarian rule was helping the Nazi Party to gain power. The conservative elite and the Nazi Party had a common enemy -- the political left . ...

Considering that the 18th century was the 1700s WTF does the 1920-30s have to do with it?

The Roosevelts were filthy rich from selling opium to the Chinese at gunpoint. They were silver spoon brats who never had to lift a finger unless they wanted to. Even so, FDR was a badass- see the documentary FDR:American Badass! for more!

Yes. Your question was obviously a deflection from the topic.

er, no it wasn't. Not to be contrary, but the question of defacing/removing monuments is exactly related to the topic 'scrubbing history'. Demonstrably, the hard left are the main scrubbers of history.

As an aside, the hard left are also responsible for Trump being elected. thanks for nothing.

#19 | Posted by Alexandrite at 2025-02-03 02:11 PM | Reply

There's nothing hard left about either Bernie or AOC, they simply want what all European nations, Canada, Australia and many other nations already have.

They only appear "hard left" because this nation is so far off the deep end to the right.

Oh just admit it. Trump only won because of leftist ideas and rhetoric, their riots and rewriting history etc.
In a reasonable framework, he would have lost to any reasonable alternative. But you guys had to go full woke, and managed to out-revulsion the cheeto clan cult.

Trump won because he tapped into the racism misogyny xenophobia homophobia transphobia. He tapped into your hatred for your fellow countryfolk. That's how.

He tapped into your hatred for your fellow countryfolk

racialists, foreigners, -----, trannys, powermad feminists =/= not the fellow countryfolk of the majority.
these are intrusive, literally or ideologically.

The left's hatred of 'normality' and regular 'normal' people and ideas-fell short, is what happened.
Plain old normies are your actual 'fellow countryfolk'.

to answer the question-
"Is he a good employee?" you don't ask the employee, you ask the boss

"Is he a good husband?" you don't ask the husband, you ask the wife

"Are they good parents?" you don't ask the parents, you ask the children

"Is your society fair and correct?" you don't ask yourself, you ask your inheritors, the descendants who will live in the society you create

If you intend to opt out of reproducing to perpetuate your society, choosing instead to live for the dopamine, there's no real investment in society. Narrow interests of hedonists are not relevant to society. Their end is regret.

Many 1000s of Democrat officials illegally conspiring to hide foreign illegals in the sanctuary cities and states will soon face serious consequences. Illegal conspiracies and activity that actually protected criminals has consequences. Mayorkas should be number one.

@#30 ... tRump is a ------ ...

Calm down.

Pres Trump is, imo, a clueless transactional-based bigoted megalomaniac who wants to turn the Country into a dictatorship.

But a ------?

I'd disagree, mostly.

On the other hand, I say "mostly" because of the apparent extreme fascination with the Village People. Back in the day ... well this is what was written...

"YMCA" Village People (late 1970's)
www.superseventies.com

... French composer-producer Jacques Morali came to the United States as the winner of a 20th Century-Fox slogan contest. While in New York, he attended a costume ball at Les Mouches, a gay disco in Greenwich Village. As he gazed around the room, Morali was impressed by all the "macho male stereotypes" portrayed by the party guests. The idea came to him: Why not put together a group of singers and dancers, each one playing a different gay fantasy figure?

Felip Rose, a professional dancer, came that night as an American Indian. He was cast as the first "image." Next came singer Alexander Briley, as the uniformed GI/sailor. Victor Willis, who had been in such Broadway musicals as The Wiz and The River Niger, rounded out the trio as lead singer and lyricist. His role was as the naval commander and part-time policeman.

As all had been recruited from Greenwich Village, Morali decided to call them the Village People.

THE TOP FIVE
Week of February 10, 1979

1. Do Ya Think I'm Sexy
Rod Stewart

2. Y.M.C.A.
Village People

3. Le Freak
Chic

4. A Little More Love
Olivia Newton-John

5. Fire
Pointer Sisters

Their first album, The Village People, was released in 1977 and aimed directly at the gay market. Soon after it hit, auditions were held for three more members. TV actor Randy Jones was hired as a cowboy. Glenn Hughes, a former Brooklyn Battery Tunnel toll collector, came in as a leather-clad biker (a role he played in real life as well, he claimed). And last but not least was David "Scar" Hodo, the muscular construction worker in mirrored shades. A great lover of bizarre stunts, his passion for roller skating while eating fire had landed him on "What's My Line?"

Looking at that differently, if Pres trump so concerned about how he identifies sexually, that he feels the need to be an uder-macho male assaulting women? I suspect that may be a whole different thread upon itself, though. ...
