"The department argued that the disclosure "would unquestionably create serious repercussions for the Executive Branch's ability to conduct foreign affairs."

So, the transparency that Pres Trump has said of his administration is out the window?

Seems reasonable, they are probably trying to find more terrorist in the country.

... he government may invoke states secret privilege to block a federal judge from viewing specific information about two deportation flights of alleged Tren de Aragua gang members, ...

imo, what a better way for the Trump admin to admit that the deportation flights were not illegal?

For starters, my first question would be ...

How does the Trump admin know that all they have deported on these flights are who or what the Trump admin asserts they are?

What was the legal process to make that determination?

Or is Pres Trump just deporting people because of the color of their skin?

The gist, imo ...

Trump administration escalates legal battle over alleged gang member deportations
abcnews.go.com

... "The underlying premise of these orders, including the most recent one requiring the production of these facts ex parte today at noon, is that the Judicial Branch is superior to the Executive Branch, particularly on non-legal matters involving foreign affairs and national security," they wrote. "The Government disagrees. The two branches are coequal, and the Court's continued intrusions into the prerogatives of the Executive Branch, especially on a non-legal and factually irrelevant matter, should end."

In his response, Judge Boasberg gave the government a one-day extension -- until noon Thursday -- to either provide the information he requested or invoke the state secrets doctrine and provide an explanation as to why they are invoking it. ...

So, the Trump admin looks to be saying that what the Judicial Branch says is irrelevant, and that the Judicial Branch should just step aside and let the Executive Branch do whatever it wants to do?

Imagine being a Democrat in 2025. You are literally fighting to keep the US from deporting violent gang members that illegally entered the US. No wonder your party approval is in the gutter. Now the Dem Karens want to crow about the price of eggs (down 45% since inauguration by the way) while trying to keep the gang members in the country to terrorize their voters.

You're missing it, on purpose, because that's what you do.

The difference between us is we want the government to follow the law.

You want anything the government does to your enemies to be deemed legal.

No, you don't. If that was the case, you would have demanded that Biden closed the border so they would not have been allowed to enter illegally in the first place.

What you are doing now is obstructing everything Trump because your party lacks policies that appeal to the US citizens. The negative consequence is that you are now doing exactly what I stated above materially harming the living standards of the blue city residents that formerly supported your party. I think these judges should be charged under RICO the next time one of these illegals they stopped from being deported commits a violent crime.

I am not a Democrat. My political mentor was my grandfather, a survivor of WW1, Herbert Hoover and the Great Depression. In short, a yellow dog Democrat. He was depressed with my first time to vote for Nixon in '72 and to his delight my later regret of that vote.

That said, the Buffoon is an embarrassment to everything I've learned about politics and government from my other grandfather's elections as a Justice of the Peace, to high school civics, to knocking on doors for Wallace at the behest of my Dad, to a political science degree, to 35 plus years of practicing law.

Invoking a statute enacted to deal with war with another government to deal with a drug gang is a bridge too far. It reeks of incompetence on the Bufoon's part.

Yeah, the one deporting the drug gangs is the bufoon...not the dipshit party that ushered the drug gangs into the US with open arms. I bet when you take a giant number 2 and clog your toilet, you are furious at the plumber for coming to fix the problem as well.

@#16 ... the one deporting the drug gangs is the bufoon ...

Please provide the evidence of the "drug gangs" being deported.

Stated differently, what is the actual legal accusation against each of those being deported?

And, has a Court been presented with those allegations and decided upon the evidence to allow those deportations?

Simple questions.

Got answers?

Based upon my prior discussions with you, let's just say, I agree. :)

OK, politics aside, yeah, one reason (the major reason) I welcome reading your comments is that they seem to be focused upon the Law, and not politics.

I thank you for that.

Lyrics excerpt ...

...
I close my eyes to worldly skies
I leave behind the day
And deep within me, Ishallbegin
To chase mythoughts away
As loved ones hold meto their sides
Their strength flows into me
To cast me outofsorrow'sblindness
Into eternity

I thoughtI heard themsoftly calling
The voices of the spheres
As light years flash forever falling
Away from waking fears
I reach out, try to touch the passing
Of beings bathed in light
But they just smile, their eyes not asking
To see beyond their sight
...

Armageddon is an interesting group.

Armageddon (British band)
en.wikipedia.org(British_band)

...Armageddon were an English hard rock band formed in 1974. Their self-titled debut, Armageddon, was recorded in England and released in the United States on A&M Records. The albums' original liner notes use the term "supergroup", as their personnel were drummer Bobby Caldwell (previously a member of Captain Beyond), singer Keith Relf (who had fronted the band the Yardbirds and was a co-founder of Renaissance), guitarist Martin Pugh (from Steamhammer), and bassist Louis Cennamo (also formerly of Renaissance and Steamhammer). ...

So much talent.

Then this happened ...

Keith Relf

... William Keith Relf (22 March 1943 " 12 May 1976) was an English musician, best known as the lead vocalist and harmonica player for rock band the Yardbirds. He then formed the band Renaissance with his sister Jane Relf, the Yardbirds ex-drummer Jim McCarty and ex-The Nashville Teens keyboardist John Hawken. ...

On 12 May 1976, Relf died in the basement of his home at age 33 from electrocution while playing an ungrounded electric guitar. ...

They are here illegally. End of story. No other justification is necessary. No matter how much the Democrats want open borders, that is not the law.

Sitting on the door stoop
Watching multi bizarre people pass me by
Look through the windows, through the houses
Oh, they're made of sky

Gargoyle watching the bouncing ball
Strangers mystified by all
All the goings on
Sufficiently breathless
Sufficiently breathless

Hey, Mr. Policeman, can you point the way
Oh, with your handgun?

Wrong. Constitutionally even non citizens are afforded due process which Trump has violated.

@#20 ... They are here illegally. End of story. ...

Not the end of story.

How was it determined that "they" were here illegally?

Your current alias' response seems to indicate that there was no process involved in determining the status of each of the individuals being deported. Merely that "they" all should be deported.

So, let me ask once again (a repeat of my #17, that your current alias avoided answering) ...

Stated differently, what is the actual legal accusation against each of those being deported?

And, has a Court been presented with those allegations and decided upon the evidence to allow those deportations?

Trump is currently refusing to release the names of the people he's paying a foreign country 6 million to hold for a year. In a nasty harsh prison with physical labor I might add.

It is not rocket science. Are they US citizens? No. Do they have lawful visas? No.

As such they are here illegally and subject to deportation. Just because the Dems want open borders, they will try to slow this process as much as possible - never arguing they have a right to be here, just trying to slow down the process and waste taxpayer time and money. Why they want drug gang members to remain in the US is a question only they can answer. The voters have already spoken on this issue.

I agree, it is not rocket science.

... Are they US citizens? No. ...

And your current alias knows that for each person being deported ... how?

It is a Law and Order issue.

The politicization your current alias tries to ascribe to the deportations aside...

Please cite the evidence and the court proceedings for each of those people who have been deported. and how each of their deportations has been authorized by the Courts.
