Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, August 28, 2025

resident Donald Trump on Thursday called out Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) over Chicago's murder rate, saying, "[p]eople are desperate for me to stop the crime." "Governor Pritzker had 6 murders in Chicago this weekend. 20 people were shot. But he doesn't want to ask me for help. Can this be possible?" Trump posted on Truth Social. "The people are desperate for me to STOP THE CRIME, something the Democrats aren't capable of doing. STAY TUNED!!!" Trump's comments come more than two weeks after he deployed the National Guard and federal agencies to assist the Metropolitan Police Department with cracking down on crime in Washington, D.C.

Military occupations work just as well at reducing crime as Covid does!

At least in the short term.

What's ironic about it is that Trump doesn't care about the murders. He only cares about how it's a tool to make the democratic party look ineffective.

The democratic party needs to fight back better on this issue. We all see the per capita murder rate in some red state rural areas but Trump controls the high ground by pointing to Chicago all the time as well as a few other cities.

That's what all of this is about. Making the democratic party look soft and ineffective on crime.

It sure as hell isn't about cleaning up crime.

President Dummkopf Trumpf on Thursday called out Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) over Chicago's murder rate, saying, "people are desperate for me to stop the crime."

Americans in general are desperate for any President to stop uncontrolled gun violence plaguing the US. A reported asked your press officer about that today. Her response: "Humble-mumble-chumble."

Most of you want something done about crime until President does something about it. It's not a good look.
