Biden Statement: Today, in 2024 in America, women are being turned away from emergency rooms and forced to travel hundreds of miles for health care, while doctors fear prosecution for providing an abortion. And now, a court in Alabama put access to some fertility treatments at risk for families who are desperately trying to get pregnant. The disregard for women's ability to make these decisions for themselves and their families is outrageous and unacceptable. Make no mistake: this is a direct result of the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Couple, women, families that have had appointments to have IVF have found their appointments cancelled and their plans for having a child cancelled by the Alabama Supreme Courts decision. Notoriously absent from the ruling was any legal basis. Instead the court quotes scripture, the Bible, religious scholars, religious figures, even the Ten Commandments citing "Thou shall not murder." (irony is obvious given AL death penalty), etc., over and over to emotionally rationalize mandating their twisted belief on everyone else.

"In summary, the theologically based view of the sanctity of life adopted by the People of Alabama encompasses the following : (1) God made every person in His image; (2) each person therefore has a value that far exceeds the ability of human beings to calculate; and (3) human life can not be wrongfully destroyed without incurring the wrath of a holy God, who views the destruction of His image as an affront to Himself. Section 36.06 recognizes that this is true of unborn human life no less than it is of all other human life that even before birth, all human beings bear the image of God, and their lives can not be destroyed without effacing (H)is glory."

That's in the Court's ruling as the justification for their decision. Oh, and if you missed it, the messed up on capitalizing "His" at the end, so I corrected it for them

Chief Justice Tom Parker's recent concurring opinion in a case granting rights to embryos drew criticism for invoking religious language

During a recent interview on the program of self-proclaimed "prophet" and QAnon conspiracy theorist Johnny Enlow, Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Tom Parker indicated that he is a proponent of the "Seven Mountain Mandate," a theological approach that calls on Christians to impose fundamentalist values on all aspects of American life.

Enlow is a pro-Trump "prophet" and leading proponent of the "Seven Mountain Mandate," a "quasi-biblical blueprint for theocracy" that asserts that Christians must impose fundamentalist values on American society by conquering the "seven mountains" of cultural influence in U.S. life: government, education, media, religion, family, business, and entertainment.

Since when are State Courts the interpreters and arbitrators of religious scriptures?

Like Yav said, this isn't based on legal precedents, it's based on a simpleton's gibberish version religious scriptures.

" a "quasi-biblical blueprint for theocracy"

More complete BS.

Paul called nationalism, "garbage". CS Lewis said there was a, "pretty cageful in Hell" full of them.

These are quacks and nutjobs on the level of Pol Pot.

"human life can not be wrongfully destroyed without incurring the wrath of a holy God"

So, like, uh,

Is this a two way street?

Thanks to the Alabama Supreme Court,

Does G-d now just give Alabama and it's now abandoned Fertility Clinics a Free Square on all the human life they destroyed over the past decades?

Because, uh, they have incurred a whole lot of wrath.

But it's good now, with the Big Guy?

The crackers down Alabama way seem to think they know God's thinking. That's some sort of sin. These same crackers are deifying Der Dotard, and that's against one or more of the Ten Commandments. Last, the crackers seem to be doing all of this in a manner which Jesus himself called out, declaring folks like this to be hypocrites. I think some of these crackers missed Sunday School on a regular basis, or if they did attend, found the teachings to be contrary to their world view, and thus to be ignored...

Get your fairy tales and invisible cloud beings out of our government. Insane people who don't even understand the book they claim is the word of their magic sky wizard don't belong in positions of power.
